Bought my new violin here and picked up an order for a friend as well. Alice was super friendly, helpful and knowledgeable!! I recently purchased a 4/4 violin from Bows for Strings and had an excellent experience. I was initially hesitant about buying a violin from interstate, as it’s always ideal to try fine instruments in person first. However, the BFS team was incredibly kind and helpful. They shared detailed photos and sound recordings and also reassured me with a return option if the violin wasn’t a good fit. This gave me complete peace of mind. The violin arrived beautifully packed and carefully handled. The sound is lovely—both my daughter and her teacher are very pleased with it. The team at Bows for Strings has been friendly, professional, and very knowledgeable throughout the whole process. I’m very happy with this purchase and will definitely return in the future. Highly recommend!

What a lovely store. I purchased an old violin that needed some work done to it and Bows For Strings were incredibly helpful in making it ready to be played. The team are really warm and clearly all very passionate about what they do whilst being friendly and approachable to someone who isn't from a classical background. Brenton was really helpful in explaining everything that would need to be done to it and why, and now the violin plays wonderfully. Thanks to Alice, Kieran Brenton and all the rest of the team for making me feel welcome and know I was in safe hands. Your work is really appreciated and now I can go back to annoying my neighbours whilst I learn how to play this beautiful instrument. Thanks team!

Bows for Strings is absolutely fantastic! The staff are incredibly knowledgeable and genuinely passionate about string instruments. They took the time to help us find the right violin and bow, explaining the differences clearly and making sure everything was perfectly set up.
