Low prices, attractive layout, and chill vibes - unfortunately came in for stock of Pokemon TCG which indicated stock but was told by mostly fdly clerk that it wasn’t here… didn’t really look for it thou… he implied probable theft, even though all the stock is behind barrier/counter and inaccessible by public…nnNeeds to be improved, especially for honestly one of your highest-risk, highest-demand important items, that is going to get a lot of customers & families in the door - both young and old.
Ordered 8 tins of Nan comfort. And 6 of them are badly dented. Horrendous packaging!!!
Big W at QV Melbourne is a solid, no-frills retail experience that delivers exactly what it promises: a big, well-organised store packed with all the household essentials you could need, at prices that are hard to beat. Located right in the heart of the city within the QV Melbourne shopping precinct, it's incredibly convenient for both locals and visitors looking to stock up without spending a fortune.nnThe store spans a generous footprint, offering a wide range of products across categories. Whether you're a student setting up a new share house, a tourist needing travel adapters and toiletries, or a local doing a quick weekly shop, you’ll likely find what you need here. The layout is logical and easy to navigate, with clear signage and wide aisles, even during busier times.nnOne of the biggest draws is the value. Big W has long been known for affordable pricing, and this location is no exception. From pantry staples to laundry detergent, bedding sets to winter jumpers, everything feels reasonably priced.nnThe only minor downsides? It can get crowded during peak hours, especially on weekends or just before public holidays. And while the selection is broad, don’t expect premium or gourmet options -the focus is firmly on functionality and affordability, not luxury or niche products.nnBut really, what’s not to like? It’s clean, well-lit, centrally located, and full of practical goods at budget-friendly prices. For anyone living in or passing through Melbourne’s CBD, Big W at QV is a reliable go-to. A simple, straightforward store that gets the job done - efficient, economical, and essential.
I had one of the worst customer service experiences at Big W QV recently. There were three staff at the self-checkout counter, and not one of them showed even basic manners or courtesy. I first asked one worker to remove the security tag on a pair of pants I had picked up. Her response? A blunt, “After you’ve paid,” with no greeting, no “please,” no “thank you” — just a cold, commanding tone as if I were bothering her.nnAfter paying, I asked another staff member to reprint my receipt. Again, no greeting — just instructions barked at me to move my paid items off the counter. She was clearly impatient, distracted, and reluctant to help, barely paying attention as she eventually reprinted the receipt.nnThen I had to go to a small counter to get the security tag removed. I was clearly carrying a lot of items, yet the staff member took her time, slowly walking to an assisted but closed counter to finally remove the tag. Zero effort to make things easier or even acknowledge the inconvenience.nnBig W, what kind of customer service are you offering? I understand being a low-cost retailer, but does that also mean treating customers with zero respect? I've had better service at a $2 shop.nnTo top it off, when I tried to leave feedback online, your system only operates during weekday business hours — and outside of that, you get a bot. No human, no help. Just like in-store. No wonder Big W keeps making losses — you don’t care about your customers. This store is a prime example of how not to run a retail business.
It's good and their security is also very good here. Customers are usually pretty well-behaved. Their stock is good they have pretty good quality ranges for affordable price points.
