Today, I went to BIG W as usual to purchase some items. I paid for my purchases using approximately $40 in coins at the self-service coin machine.nnDuring the transaction, an older female staff member approached me and spoke to me in a way that I felt was disrespectful and condescending. She questioned why I had not taken the coins to a bank to exchange them before coming to BIG W, and told me that using so many coins could cause their machine to break.nnI was very uncomfortable with the way she spoke to me. I also felt that she was questioning where my money came from and why I had so many coins. I do not believe it was appropriate for a staff member to question me about the source of my money in this manner.nnShe also spoke to me in an unpleasant tone and told me that next time I should exchange the coins first and then come to BIG W to shop.nnI would like to clarify whether I am actually not allowed to use my own coins in the self-service coin machine. If the machine has a specific limit or there is a policy regarding the amount of coins customers can use, I would appreciate being informed of the policy. However, I believe customers should be treated respectfully regardless of how they choose to pay, as long as the payment method is accepted by the store.nnI am making this complaint because I felt embarrassed, disrespected and uncomfortable during the interaction. I would appreciate it if BIG W could investigate this incident and clarify the relevant policy regarding coin payments.
I would like to make a formal complaint regarding my experience with a BIG W employee named Aidan.nnI arrived at the store early specifically to purchase Pokémon cards. After making my first purchase, Aidan personally told me that there was a strict limit of one product per person. I accepted this and left under the impression that the policy was being applied fairly to everyone.nnHowever, only about five minutes later, as I was leaving the store, I witnessed Aidan serving a group of customers who appeared to know him personally. Instead of enforcing the same limit that he had just enforced on me, he allowed members of that group to purchase around seven products each.nnSeeing this immediately after being told there was a strict one-per-person limit was extremely disappointing. It gave the clear impression that the rules only applied to certain customers, while others received preferential treatment because of their relationship with the employee.nnThis experience has seriously damaged my perception of BIG W. As a customer, I expect policies to be applied consistently and fairly, regardless of who is making the purchase. Selectively enforcing purchase limits undermines customer trust and creates the appearance of favouritism.nnI ask that this incident be investigated and that appropriate action be taken to ensure all customers are treated equally and that store policies are enforced consistently. I hope BIG W takes this complaint seriously, as experiences like this discourage loyal customers from shopping at your stores in the future.
We visited this large department store which has many sections with apparel, toys, chocolate, appliances, bedding, electronics and other household goods. We were looking for bedding items which we found at reasonable prices. Self check out was easy and efficient.
