I visited the Northland Store yesterday to have my Great Dane Clifford get his nails trimmed - he suffer terribly with separation anxiety and when I book him in for the nail trim I make the staff aware - never had a problem getting a quick appointment and you are always greeted with a friendly welcome. The two staff members that have to tend to Clifford yes two are and were fantastic with him - they are always patient with him and treat him in such a loving and caring manner - cannot fault them at all - they are a credit to the store - it’s the same every time I come in - I also get my Cocker Spaniel done there also - many thanks for making my time and nervous Clifford’s time there a delight plus love buying a treat for the dogs as I leave - cheers - very reasonably priced for a nail clip also compared to other places.
Its easy to park here, they have a wide variety of things as well as birds and fish to purchase. I had a little chat with a parrot. I bought a cat tree for way less than advertised elsewhere. The sales people are very friendly and seem to know their stuff. Very happy to have found it.

I have spent a fortune at this place over the years. This week I needed to buy a new lead as the old one broke. I had my dog with me and because it was a hot day I didn’t feel comfortable leaving her in the car. So I brought her in with me. I obviously didn’t have her on a lead because I was trying to buy one, but my dog is so well behaved and was just sitting by me the whole time. She veered momentarily about 2 m but came straight back when I called her. Anyway one of the staff launched into what I can only describe as a tirade about me breaking conditions of entry. I explained I was trying to select a lead, which I could use straight away, but he literally wouldn’t stop berating me. I became actually very anxious and couldn’t concentrate on trying to find a lead because of how I was being spoken to. My heart rate went through the roof because I just felt so totally intimidated and defensive. In the end I grabbed a lead which ended up being the wrong length... so a complete waste of money in the end.
Very helpful even over phone and leaving items at counter for when arrive suggested items worked great for our dog and wound healed quickly great with children offering them step to view animals that where high up
Wow, this place is pet heaven on steroids. A large, spaciously laid out store with plenty of room to navigate your way around. Pets are welcome to come inside. There are a number of sections such as pet grooming, puppy school, vet and so much more. There are animals to look or buy but do know staff are very protective of their pets and so do know you need to be a dedicated animal lover to purchase an animal from here. Birds, guinea pigs, rabbits, fish, hermit crabs, foster felines and more. All possible products relating to any of these are available. Food, leashes, bedding, toys etc etc. everything you want under one roof. Wheelchair friendly. Kid friendly. Great parking. Staff are exceptionally nice and extremely dedicated.
The guy who reccomended and helped fit our pup Lucian's new harness was amazing. Great service here. Consistent across the whole store, including the grooming store. We bring both pups here Highly recommend.
If you have a toy poodle and like a teddy bear cut I would highly recommend not using best friends. I showed pictures of what I was after and was very descriptive with my expectations. 4.5 hours later no-one had phoned me to let me know he was ready. He was the last dog sitting in a cage. The staff weren't sure why I hadn't been contacted. Not only was I disappointed to not have been contacted I was disappointed with the cut. A real rush job. At $89 you hope you'd get what you asked for...
