The Basil & Wine has a wonderful atmosphere that feels warm and inviting.nnThe presentation of the meal was quite impressive, with dishes that looked as good as you'd expect from a higher-end restaurant.nnHowever, the taste left much to be desired. The vegetables, in particular, lacked any real flavour and felt under-seasoned. Additionally, the waiting time was longer than expected, with about 35 minutes before the food arrived.nnWhile I enjoyed the ambience, the taste and wait time could use some improvement.
This restaurant combines excellent food, atmosphere, and service at a very high level. They seem to be good at marketing too, as I couldn’t find any flaws. The only downside is that it’s fully booked on weekends. I’d love to visit again. Thank you!
My wife and I went for dinner on a Monday night. 6.30pmnBasil & Vine is a great restaurant.nWe have dined in here before and had there take away.. never had any complaintsnnThis time.nnSERVICE 4 nthe waiter we had was a young guy and was clearly new to the food service industry.. not saying he was bad.. he just needs time to learn.. better people skills and table service..nWe could see he was making an effort..nbut overall, the other staff were lovely to deal with..nnATMOSPHERE 4 nThey did have a nice warm fire burning on the inside of the restaurant, which drew us in.. but we didn't get to enjoy that, unfortunately.. as we probably didn't time our entry, right.. 2 or 3 tables left inside as we were seated outside. Maybe next time we will book ahead. :-nnFOOD 5 nBut the reason we went was food.. and the food was great.. I had Beef Lasagne and wife had Pesto Chicken w/ bacon.nBoth were awesome..nWe had a bruchetta for entre, which I think would have benefited from a little fetta broken over it.. but the balsamic glaze was really nice..nnWe also had Tiramisu and Panacotta for dessert.. individually, they were great desserts, presented well, and super yummy.. however, we found if you combine them in one mouthful.. wow..nnMany thanks for a delicious meal..nHope you're around for many years to come...nBill & Lea
Had my graduation dinner at Basil & Vine with my family and absolutely loved it. We were glad to have booked a table as it was very busy and popular. The service was good and the food delicious! Also the atmosphere was really beautiful and cozy, which is a rare find in this country! We will definitely come back again!
It's a really lovely spot. Diverse menu with something for everyone. Today we got The Godfather which is essentially a big breakfast and Turkish Eggs with bacon. The flat bread is delicious and I would pick this over toast anyday. The Godfather Mushrooms are sliced super thin and perfectly caramelised, the onion prepared in a sweet caramelised way. We asked for scrambled eggs - their scrambled eggs are more like an omelette and not a traditional scrambled egg- so take that in mind when ordering. Next time I will be getting poached. The coffee is good. The servings are smaller than the average, especially if you order a iced drink - but their prices reflect this. We have previously had pancakes, pizza and pasta and they were good too.
