I had an amazing experience! The prices for their modern cars are unbeatable, offering fantastic value for money. The car I rented was immaculately clean and well-maintained, which made the entire experience even better. A special shoutout to Sean for providing the best customer service I’ve come across. He was incredibly friendly and informative, making the whole process smooth and stress-free. Highly recommend!
Was a bit apprehensive after seeing their ratings, but Bargain’s prices were truly a bargain compared to the other name-brand rental agencies. Car itself and service were all perfectly fine. Pickup and return were smooth. What other reviews say about only getting an MG car are true though - and they definitely aren’t the best quality. The pre-purchase a tank of fuel option is a good bargain - it was indeed a good 20-30 cents per liter cheaper than outside.
The car rental company is terrible. The car was an MG3, which frequently had the issue where, upon starting the car and shifting into drive D, it would move in reverse instead. We reported the issue from the very first day, but received no assistance. They don't care, even though you could potentially die from the condition of their car. If you rent a car on a daily rate and encounter problems with the vehicle, they refuse to refund the unused days. They claim they need to inspect the car first, and they conduct the inspection themselves. In such cases, the renter has no way of getting a refund. The car we rented had an issue where it would reverse even when in drive D. We tolerated driving it from Cradle Mountain to Hobart just to return it, but Max, the supervisor, said they wouldn’t refund the unused day.nnWe didn’t return the car earlier because Bargain had no branch in Cradle Mountain. We drove slowly and took several days, stopping along the way, to return the car to Hobart. We requested a refund for the unused day we rented for 5 days but wanted to return it a day early because we were too afraid to drive after experiencing several technical incidents . Max or Matt told us that even if we returned the car early, we wouldn't get a refund. It's absolutely ridiculous. All he cared about was little bit of money than customer’s safety.nnJust a moment ago we had another incident of the car rolling back upon starting when in Drive gear. Bargain only offer crappy cars.
We arrived from Gold Coast at 7-30pm. Our bags came of very quickly so headed to the bargain counter. I recon by the time we left we were the last ones in the airport. Our car keys were not allocated to the car. This car had been booked for months and I also checked before we left Gold Coast to make sure everything was order. They wasted about 40 minutes of our time which was getting me really angry. We thought we would be in Hobart by at least 8-15.nWe had a SUV MG. the meaning of suv is a 4 wd I thought like most companies SUV means 4 wheel drive. We would of really been in the shit if it was raining as we were going into gravel roads. This car is cheap and nasty. Slow to take of. We had problems filling the car with fuel. The fuel gauge wasn’t reading correctly.nWhen we went to drop the car off at Hobart airport where we collected it from we were informed that we would have to drive in the back entrance to the airport. The lovely guys in the multi rental car parking explained to me how to get to the back entrance. This caused us a lot of stress when we arrived at the airport to catch our flight hm.nI would NEVER use bargain again. We also had problems with our rental car in Gold Coast and they replaced the car.
