Being centrally located, we are in walking distance to the Waterfront, Restaurants and City Shopping Arcades.

Story

Welcome to Imperial Backpackers! We are the new backpackers in the 'Heart of Hobart'. We pride ourselves to offer a clean, safe and friendly place to stay while exploring Hobart and Southern Tasmania.

The Backpackers has just completed a new refurbishment of all rooms, the kitchen / dining area and lounge area, all with a new coat of paint throughout. It truly is a fresh and retro feel to an old and beautiful 1870's building.

As we are in the centre of Hobart we are only minutes walking distance to Salamanca Place, Battery Point, the Hobart Waterfront, art galleries, museums, restaurants, cafes, bars and much more, all for you to explore!

Our private rooms contain leather luxury beds whilst our dorm rooms are metal framed with inner-spring mattresses, all with fresh linen provided. We have a large common area with a large television, beautiful Italian leather lounges to relax with free WiFi

Not recommended! Even the receptionists are very friendly and knowledgeable and the beds are cozy, the facility is too old in the whole building. No air condition, even without a fan in the room. We couldn’t sleep at all. It was even much cooler outside than inside the room. The air was not circulated in the room. I feel the price is not fit with the quality of this accommodation. No lift in the building so we have to carry our luggage up stairs to the third floor.

Moderate price, you get what you pay for. No views, not social, more like a rundown hotel for a budget night's sleep. Three Stars for the hard working staff. If you're looking for a social hostel experience, then it's best to give this one a miss.

Great hostel, well equipped big kitchen and lounge area. Ffee clothes tail and book exchange. Friendly staff.

Imperial backpackers is a terrible place and with dirty washrooms and not vacuumed carpets. The place has no lifts and they have no mention of that on websites. We had some trouble with walking and had no choice but to climb up 2 floors! Apart from that reception people are usually away and they stick back in 5 minuets notes! And we booked a shared dorm, instead they gave us seperate twin share rooms. I wouldn’t suggest this hostel at all and would recommend other hostels or air bnb.

Almost everything is clean and the beds are comfortable. The kitchen could be better equipped. They put the employees in half bedrooms and half storage rooms. That's the worst.
