Australia Post - New Farm Post Shop

My first time here to pick up a Western Union money sent to me from USA. The staff are friendly to me. There are many kinds of gifts to buy for children as well as for adults or for your home. They have a lot of sale items at a very very low price. I forgot it was a post office . Parking on the street level or under cover is convenient.

Life’s hard, I get it. What I don’t get is how the person who just served me gets to speak to anyone the way she just did to me. The mistake was and continues to be made by Australia Post yet their representatives continue to dodge any kind of solution and still speak to their paying customers poorly. It’s absolutely abhorrent and disgusting humanity. Shameful.

On Google it says the Post Office is open till 1pm on the 24th December. It’s not. So, a suggestion would be to update your opening hours.

Rocked up at 5pm to collect a package and the door legit closed on me as staff watched. Instead of just checking to see what I wanted and if it was a hassle at close, all 4-5 staff just stood there looking at me shaking their heads. Watched them do the same to an elderly man about 30 seconds later. The fact you couldn't even spare 1 minute for him speaks volumes

Extraordinarily unhelpful staff. Somewhat unpleasant experience trying to collect a $7 item. Despite showing digital copies of license, birth certificate, marriage certificate, Medicare, passport, credit cards, business cards - only the physical thing would do. No exceptions. To their credit they followed the process - just very unhelpful.

I got a parcel delivered and it was at the post office, I went to pick it up and they had put it in the return to sender pile even though I went to pick up the very next day after getting the notification. I also had a parcel sent to the parcel locker and my code to open a locker didn’t work and then didn’t even put it in a locker, just left it in the post office. The whole reason I got it sent to a parcel locker was because I couldn’t go during staffed hours. So unreliable and frustrating and all I’m trying to do is pick up a parcel.

Asian man named David who served me was extremely extremely rude. Went there to make a return on an item I bought and he snapped at me about 4 times as I didn't hear him telling me what to write on the return sticker. He was so quiet and mumbling. Also my partner who has a chinese background was both laughed and accused of not being having a 'real name' by a large Indian women. The service here is appalling, rudeness, racism, and upright disrespectful people. Please replace these staff with better people.

I had given instructions and paid for a 'hold mail' service as I was going overseas for 3 months. I sent myself a parcel from overseas that reached before I arrived home. Despite the 'hold mail', Australia Post sent the parcel back to the sender me! my temporary address overseas after holding the parcel for 10 days. Now the parcel is lost. Talking to anyone within Australia post has been an exercise in futility; no one has answers or worse, try to make up dumb explanations. Utterly useless postal 'service'.

It’s my second time trying to process my ASIC application and it went really well. Special thanks to Kylie for trying all the documents I have to lodge my application. She’s really nice and very accomodating.
