Even if you are not attending the appointment yourself, they will press you for photo id saying its for security purposes that they require from any support persons with you. It's a plain invasion of privacy as there is nothing listed on the site or in the office advising that they collect the information of all persons entering the property. Staff at the counter have ZERO idea as to why your details are collected replying " Its for security purposes" . When they were asked to show what part of the legislation it was a requirement to give such information they stormed off to get a supervisor. Very poor training. They even stated that it started as covid tracing and now it's for security. Sorry, but services Australia needs to pick their act up and be more transparent as to why they do these things.
I called the number for the Fortitude Valley office which ISN'T actually the FV office but just sends you to a self service line. After numerous questions, I got stuck not remembering a pin code because they make you remember a unique one every bloody time and it hung up on me.
Staff was amazingly patient and helped me sort everything in one visit : also very nice with rude people so they deserve nothing but praise as these days it seems it’s harder than ever to work with people
This 5 stars are just for Judy, the lady that receives you in the front desk. Thanks for being polite, profesional and caring for people. It is such a pleasure when you are a foreign person to meet people like Judy who is willing to help you.
The lady glasses with curly hair at check in dest is rude, aggressive and useless, worst person i have ever met in my life . After Been wating to get a service for 2 hours , I tried to ask for help about 1 single question due to covid disaster payment , instead of helping me she gave a card with phone no on it to call and kept saying call them or come back later . Whats the point of that i was there!!!!. I asked for her help . She just said it’s 4.26 pm now . Soo? U close at 4.30 right? Then i got kicked out , treating like a dog If i could do it by myself , i wouldn’t ask for help!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Guys If you want to get a good service , go somewhere else or stay away from this lady .there’s 2 check in desk . she sits on the right side
Arrived at 11.35am and still outside waiting under burning sun, no water, no toilet option, no chair, no food, nothing. Inside all chairs in waiting room are EMPTY. It's 1.25pm, still waiting, still melting, almost dehydrated and fainting and holding on needs to not lose my spot after almost 2 hours waiting. Asking for water, and awful security guy giving arrogant reply sending us to a shop in the area.. What is happening? Human treating other human as bad as they can.. Only had hope that in this crisis we support each other...
I honestly don’t get it. You would think that you would be trying to get people in and out as quickly as possible and not have people sat waiting around in the room during these times. Yet here I am sat waiting with 8 others. 5 staff on the floor and only 1 has anyone sat with them. I work in customer service and to sit here and see and hear staff floating around having personal conversations with each other is appalling. Serve the customers!!
Not having been in a Centrelink office in about 20 years, I was pleasantly surprised. Look, the whole system is pretty terrible and it should be a lot easier than it is but these guys are doing the best with what they have. I came in at lunch time and, after being greeted by a friendly customer service person, I waited 30 minutes to be called up. Did an ID check, then was suggested that I stick around to use their computers for an application. There was a staff member floating around those computers to assist with questions who was helpful and knew their stuff. Good thing too because there was an issue with my profile, which was able to be resolved immediately while I was still there. Application completed and I was out within 1 hour. I expected worse so I'm pretty happy with that result.
Even though covid is here at the time no lockdown was on but masks were mandatory. They got me in and out without waiting more than 5mins, they helped me get some paperwork as the computers were down so noone could use My Gov outside of centrelink... Friendly staff as well. Follows covid rules very strictly.
Quite slow moving... The staff are cool.
