Ace's Deep Sea Food

We frequently make a bulk order from Ace's to cater for team lunches. They have the ability to handle large orders and deliver to our office. We usually order several fish cocktail party packs and other deep fried items. The fish cocktail party pack 15 fish cocktails for $16.90 is usually well received and reasonable value. The fish cocktails are small fillets of battered fish with good flesh to batter ratio not the small balls you see at other fish frys. Chips are thick cut and standard take out quality as is much of the other deep fried items like the old school potato scallops. Overall, pretty happy with what we get. Where it changes is when I visit in person for lunch. Some improvements are required, hence the rating. Firstly, some menu items are a bit pricey for the serving size e.g. grilled octopus/calamari with salad or chips is $14.60 or prawn cutlet pack with w/ chips $16.60 I'm more concerned with the later item as this is a pre-made frozen product. Secondly, the fresh seafood display doesn't always look fresh which is understandable as not sure how much turnover there is here. Also, I think the tartare sauce here is a bit strange. The colour and texture is a little off putting - it looks like it has had some thickening agent added to it as if someone was trying to stretch it out rather than being a predominantly mayo based sauce.

We have eaten at Aces frequently over the last 6 years. We have always found the food to be excellent quality. We are for the 4th year using Aces catering for a birthday celebration.

Best thing about Aces is the fish and chip across the road. Ace's food is overpriced and you'll think you're eating somene's dirty washing. Just awful

This place used to be the best seafood place but since it has changed hands the quality is rubbishy my friend and I were so sick from eating here the other day we couldn't even eat half of it it was so disgusting the fish tasted like mashed fish. Horrific!
