I was visiting Melbourne from Colorado for a week and got a 7 day pass to train BJJ at Absolute while I was there. I'm your average 45 year old purple belt.nnThe staff were all super friendly and welcoming and getting setup on my first day and check-in each day was ezpz. The mat space was big and clean and even when it was open mat where there were 60+ people actively rolling it was kept safe.nnThe instruction was of course top notch and I definitely learned more than a few little tips to take home and integrate. I rolled with a bunch of their purple+ belts and it was really cool to feel like they were playing chess with you rather than just trying to show you who was boss.nnI got to watch some of the best people in the world roll as well and that in of itself was super fun but *really* informative.nnI can't give this place enough praise. It was a great week of open mats and classes.
A very stupendous gym! there are two wonderful individuals named Julien and Jack whom work behind the desk at the gym that are very well skilled, knowledgeable and accommodating.nnThe coaches Lachlan, Liv, Mikael and Thomas are some of the most experienced grapplers with a wide encyclopaedia knowledge of jiu jitsu.nnIf you’re a beginner, intermediate or advanced in Jiu Jitsu I highly recommend attending this gym
An incredible gym! Can not recommend this gym highly enough. Teachers are world class. The people make you feel welcomed and are all approachable. I am in Melbourne for work and couldn’t train hard and everyone was very accommodating to flow light with me. Definitely a fantastic vibe.
I did the Muay Thai classes for 14 weeks at the st kilda classes Intro and level 1+ and the coaches Sam and Jack are epic as they structure technique at a level I haven’t seen else in Melbourne. The classes were packed with super talented and cool people to learn with which was super cool. I couldn’t recommend absolute MMA more as they have so many pathways for you to learn and grow! Shoutout to Jack and Julian as they’re always so handy at the desk if you have any questions at all! Cheers
Brazilian Jiu jitsu and muay Thai classes are amazing went through the intro Mali and sam are great at getting you started. Highly recommend for anybody looking to get into martial arts excellent for all levels of training.
