I rarely leave reviews, but I feel compelled to share my recent experience. This feedback is not aimed at the receptionist or the nursing staff, who were professional and courteous, but at the doctor who attended to us.nnWhile I understand that you work in urgent care and your time is valuable, I expect a higher standard of care, particularly when it comes to listening to and addressing your patients’ concerns. As a GP, your responsibility is not only to make quick decisions but to ensure those decisions are well-informed. Unfortunately, this was not the case during our visit.nnFirst, you failed to properly review the medical notes, test results, or scans before making your diagnosis. More critically, you didn’t thoroughly assess the patient, which is a basic expectation. The primary reason we visited was to get an explanation of the test results, yet this was overlooked entirely.nnThroughout the consultation, it felt like you weren’t really listening to what we had to say. You seemed rushed, even to the point of reminding us that our 15-minute slot was almost over. While I understand time management is essential, cutting patients off without fully addressing their concerns is unacceptable, especially when it leads to mistakes.nnOne such mistake was an incomplete prescription sent to our pharmacy, requiring us to return. When we addressed this with you, you dismissed it by claiming that you had sent another prescription at the same time, which was not true. This not only inconvenienced us but added unnecessary stress to an already difficult situation.nnTo add to the frustration, we had to see you a third time to request a simple change in the medical certificate to better reflect our needs. Despite this reasonable request, you refused to see us, leaving us no choice but to seek a second opinion from another clinic. Thankfully, the doctor at the second clinic took the time to understand our situation and provided the care and attention we were initially seeking.nnOur entire experience with you left us feeling frustrated, stressed, and unheard. As a GP, I believe it is crucial to listen to your patients—after all, they know their own bodies and symptoms best. Empathy, attentiveness, and accountability should be at the core of patient care. Mistakes happen, but admitting to them and taking the time to address your patients’ concerns can make all the difference.nnI truly hope that you reflect on this feedback and make improvements in how you approach patient care, so that others do not have to go through what we experienced.
I was expecting a long wait and an awful experience going by the reviews. But no! The team was friendly, helpful and efficient. There was a handy Radiology clinic next door too, so I was all sorted within 2 hours. I'm a very thankful patient!
Sure it used to be a respectful and good place for seeking medical treatment few years ago but not anymore. Now it has rude staff, costs too much even for infants and worse there treatment that does not work!!! The doctors there are training on us!!!!!!nnI have taken my 4-months kid there, they gave him a medicine that does not make him better and when I came back they told me that the first time was free and now I have to pay to be treated.nnSince when was medical care no longer free for children and infants in New Zealand? I don't recommend them at all because it is clear that the Whitecross went off their mission of providing treatment to the community and whanau.
Reception was good, expained things well.nDoctor was professional, whilst understanding my need.nNurse was friendly too.nAgain Nurse explained situation well with informative information.nBeen here 3 times in the last year, all times I was surprised I was seen quite fast.nThank you team.nWould recommend you try Avondale.
Dr Amrita was very lovely to deal with. She took good care of me and listened to me. Appreciate her as well as the other doctors and nurses here, you all work very hard
