Nice park with a big lake. Good for walking, running, or just sitting. You can see birds and eels in the water. Playground is fun for kids. Plenty of space for picnics and BBQs. Nice place for events and concerts. Quiet and peaceful, but can be busy on weekends.
A visit to Western Springs Park is an absolute delight. It's a beautiful and massive park, the perfect place to get some fresh air and escape the hustle of the city. The grounds are well cared for making it ideal for long leisurely walks, or simply relaxing in nature. There's a large lake with ducks and swans and the most beautiful scenery surrounding it which adds to the charm. Great picnic spots and a large children's park. There's also a tram ride around the park. Photos captured are from different segments of the park and are in no particular order. Awesome place to spend the day.
Escape to Western Springs Lakeside! Enjoy a peaceful 1.75km walk, beautiful birdlife, picnic spots and a great playground. Located near Auckland Zoo & MOTAT—a perfect city oasis for relaxing and spending quality time with family #Auckland #Nature
Good picnic spots around the lake and photo ops! Its always a Lovely place to walk. The playground is also a fun place to gather with friends and have playdate!nnBe mindful of the baby Pukekos in the area! Some visitors cannot read in English although it says “do not feed the birds”, we saw a bunch of people bringing breads and feeding the ducks and swans. :
Great venue but whoever organises gigs here needs to tweak some things going forward. Those orange cups!!! At Rufus Du sol there were 25,000 people. How about giving people their cans to drink out of instead of the orange cups that spill all over everyone else and get absolutely CRUSHED into the grass on the way out. What a disaster. At Big day out they had dedicated areas for drinking. So much easier to clean and eliminates the drunks spilling their $11 pals all over everyone else. Other than that, great venue for a good gig.
