cute and small beach, it's not too stretched out, so if there's some people here and there can make the place feel crowded, but there is still place for you to sit in between.nneasy to get here by bus and walk around half kilometre and you'll get there. also there's a toilet here nni think you cant see sunset from here because the trees on the left side hid the sun view, but im pretty sure you still be able to see the sunset gradient later on.
Herne Bay Beach is a lovely little beach in Auckland.nnOn 14/10/2023, we went to Herne Bay Beach for a relaxing walk.nnUnfortunately, the weather was not so good and we didn’t enjoy much there.nnWe will definitely go there again on a sunny day at Easter and recommend you to go there if you live in Herne Bay or happen to drive past there.
This place is private and lovely to visit. There is not much space but if you want a quiet place to chilled out with your kids or go for a walk around. This is safe to do this kind of activity.nYou may need to park off the road.nThere are public toilets here. One bench but plenty of tree shading if you wanna sit on the mat.
As you drive through a road surrounded on either side by inflated mansions, you search for the tiny entry that leads you down to the beach, treading carefully not to disturb the peace in the neighbourhood or to enter in the wrong entrance. Once you reach the beach via the reserve, via an array winding steps, you see a pretty shabby inner city beach, with the locale foliage covered in plastic from previous picnics. Looking out to the horizon you can see more beach mansions over looking the inner city waters, searching for some sunlight to make their Instagram photos look that more appealing.
THIS IS A PUBLIC BEACH. Auckland Council has completely dropped the ball. It is covered in private structures & warning signs & cameras from houses that have been allowed to illegally build all over public spaces & intimidate the public. It is like arpartheid South Africa. VILE!!!
