I recently had the pleasure of enjoying an early dinner at the Welsh Dragon with a friend on a late Saturday afternoon, and I can't say enough good things about our experience! We were looking for a relaxed spot where we could enjoy a meal with my dog after a lovely walk, and this place exceeded our expectations.nnFrom the moment we walked in, we were warmly welcomed. I often find it challenging to find good vegan/vegetarian options when dining out, but Chef Jake truly impressed me with the thoughtful selection available. Not only did I have plenty to choose from, but my friend, who is quite particular about her food, was also catered to with care. The chef took the time to come out and personally check our order, ensuring everything was just right without making us feel uncomfortable. The food was delicious, well-made, and had generous portion sizes.nnThe drink selection was fantastic, and the atmosphere was cozy and inviting—a true home away from home. It’s clear that Jake and the staff genuinely care about their customers and furry friends, especially coming from someone who’s missing her family back in Wales at the moment.nnThank you for accommodating us so well! We’ll definitely be back for more delicious food and that warm, welcoming vibe. Highly recommend!

We went to celebrate a Birthday and had a great night. The Lamb, risotto and sausage meals were all great portions and delicious. The chef made apple crumble especially for our celebration and that was so very much appreciated. Service was excellent and attentive, atmosphere fun, and prices great value. What a great asset in Wellington.

Such an incredible pub! As a Brit living in Welly, this place truly feels like home. Amazing atmosphere, the decor is on point, a fab selection of drinks and the service is fantastic.nnLucky enough to attend their Mid-Winter Christmas event and were treated by the most amazing Christmas dinner with all the trimmings! Ahhhh the Welsh...nIt's the place to start off your night, end it or just want to hang out with your friends over a pint or two. Awesome atmosphere with a fireplace near the bar, what else can you ask for? Especially in windy welly. Love it's lay out and that lil garden is a bonus on summer nights. Always open and always opens till late.

Absolutely the great start and end to a weekend away in Wellington. Highly highly recommend. Great atmosphere and everyone , staff included are so friendly . Next time in Wellington will definitely be back
