Local pub with various seating areas and most well known for its pizzas. The food offering is fairly standard bar menu. I had the fish and chips and it was a good portion and well prepared . Service was quick and friendly despite it being Sunday lunchtime. Overall this is a place worth coming back to.
We had dinner here 2 nights in a row as we were visiting Wellington/staying near by. Myself & my mum both ordered the Lamb salad and was really tasty! Lamb was super tender. Second night we shared a pizza and was also yum! Would recommend if in Karori
The Pickle jar is a pub in Karori. One of two pubs I've been to here. It's frequently busy needing reservations over the phone. The menu is a narrow selection with a page especially for hamburgers. A narrow selection means that the kitchen can turn out a better product. I had the steak. I choose medium doneness. The plate came with chips and a salad. Not enough chips but the meal was excellent, as was the service. Polite and with a smile.
Had a great experience here. A casual relaxed place with great food and drinks. I had the vege pizza, it was amazing. The crust was just the right combination of crunchy and chewy, the toppings fresh and well chosen, perfectly cooked. We also had the Mediterranean chicken salad which was also fantastic.
Fantastic food and an atmosphere reminiscent of a British pub. The staff were superb and seated us immediately in an appropriately sized table. We were a large group celebrating a life well lived, and the experience was exactly what we needed.nnThe hickory smoked barbecue wings were out of this world, the calamari perfectly cooked and the chicken and beef skewers top notch. The fries were a solid 8/10 according to my husband, crispy and very flavoursome.nnThe beer selection is epic and we also loved the delicious ginger bear.nnI couldn’t find any changes to recommend, other than to open an Inn in Palmy so we can come more often.nnWe will definitely return on our next trip to Wellington.
