The Fringe Cafe

Really nice inexpensive food, friendly staff and relaxed environs. Certainly not a trendy cafe, more of a laid back local. Beer and wine available! Stupid me left my wallet behind the other day and they returned it to me undisturbed with cash still in it - so they are honest as well. The cabinet is full of yummy options. The Steak pie has a crispy crust and pastie style veggies plus a big hunk of roast steak inside yum.

We get coffee everyday from The Fringe as so love the coffee and friendly owners who really appreciate their customers. They give a free muffin with every hot drink. Plus, the best scones in Auckland are here. I especially love my Date scone, warm with butter. The fireplace is at the back, so perfect for cold winter days looking out over the trees and Manukau Harbour.

Really good food and super friendly service from the owner and manager Woody. They make really good flat whites and I also love the Linzer tort. Even the bacon and eggs on toast is a cut above the standard cafe, with a side of mushroom and salad. I go here regularly and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere.

At least a 50 wait for food no communication until 40min in to the wait. Tables not cleared and staff not very welcoming.

I often come here and enjoy large flat white with dates scone. The view is so nice too. A mum takes her cute daughter to this cafe every Monday for breakfast and Friday for lunch. So, I changed the title from "Fringe Cafe" to " Mum and daughter's Cafe", I love you both :

Hadn't been for quite a while and it seemed that the place had changed hands. We went there because we remembered the good cakes and pastry.The girl taking the orders had no idea of how to take an order and the person who appeared to be the owner had no idea of customer service either. They had no bottle opener!! We went to sit in the back and found that ALL the tables in the back were full of dirty dishes. And nobody was in a hurry to clean them up. When the first of 3 orders arrived I had to ask owner to take some of the dirty dishes that were sitting on our table with her on her way. The pastry and tea arrived 5 minutes apart from eachother. Milk was served with my jasmine tea. The pastry dough was how I remembered but the normally nice fruity filling was replaced with cheap and nasty colored jelly type stuff. What a disappointment.

In Titirangi your very lucky to have 3 good choices of cafe's. This is one of them. If the others are too busy this is a good one to get what you need. I only generally get take out coffee from here as I'm normally on my way to a trek out west. They're very quick to serve you which is good.

Friendly staff. Fast service. Awesome coffee and hot! I am dairy intolerant and they do almond and soy options. Good variety of food cabinet and made to order.

We took our daughter out for a milkshake when we first arrived there weren't too many people there and our coffee came out pretty quickly but we waited about 20mins and then went and asked where the milkshake is they apologized and said they were making it right now, then the young girl who was serving had family and friends come in who ordered milkshakes and snoothies, she then proceeded to make theirs! 30mins later we ended up asking for a refund and leaving! Very poor service and very unprofessional to go ahead and make family and friends milkshakes even though we had ordered a good 20mins before them!!!! Disgusted!!!

Had a lovely lunch at one of their back tables overlooking scenery and some chickens! Food was good, especially the wedges - Best we have had in a long time. Well priced too.
