Takahe

22 March 2014 - 3 people dined for dinner at 6:30 pm. The young waitress was not clear when explaining the meals on ordering: something about sharing entrees. One of us ordered a meal that came with an asparagus salad, however on arrival there was no asparagus. When checking this out with the same waitress she went and checked. She came back to say that there was no asparagus on the market presently, so they substitued with tomato, which is very different. This information would have been useful when ordering - the meal was chosen because of the asparagus. Secondly, all three of us ordered Sticky Date Pudding. It took 20 mins for the waitress to come and tell us that they had run out, that another table had just ordered the last three before us. We did not order another dessert. While we were extremely happy with the meals: we could not fault them, the service was poor. If you picked up this side of your business, you have a brillant resturant!

Had a terrible meal at Toby's down the road, for our wedding anniversary. Came to Takahe and had dessert, which made up for the rest of the evening. Thanks Takahe

Would not recommend. Smoothies are just ice cream and syrup
