We had my son's birthday party there yesterday and everyone had a great time. We got the basic birthday package which was really affordable for 8 kids. The staff were really friendly and helpful. The playground, cafe, toilets, party room were all really clean. The party food nuggets + hot chips was nice. Would definitely recommend.
We always love coming to New Lynn chipmunks my kids love it somewhere for them to run free and be happy
The person on the service counter at this place was and has been on more than one occasion grumpy and rude. If you are in the service industry for children set an example by greeting with a smile and being polite. Surly face and a yep is not a good example to kids. At >$50 for 3 kids under 10 it is not cheap either. We went to to the beach with fish and chips instead it was half the price. I feel strongly that service culture needs to be significantly improved in this branch at least. I could not bring myself to spend our hard earned leisure budget in this circumstance.
Such a great place to let the kids burn off some energy. My 15 month old boy and 3.5 years old year old girl love it so much. The kids will get very sweaty. Take big water bottles. It is quite noisy in there if you have a sensitive little one .... something to be aware of. The staff are always very friendly too. Lots of parking too
The place is clean and entrance fee was affordable, playground design was great but the biggest let down were staff not available to monitor safety and enforcing the rules, examples: I had my 2 year old in the under 4 area, we went early in the morning and there many over 4 year old children playing dangerously in that area such as climbing and jumping on equipment that clearly labels do not climb, adults were observed going up slides where there said no adults allow, the older children dangerously spinning each other in an equipment that are for under 4s, parents in the play areas where shoes should be off. One of our main reasons for visit is a safe place for our toddler to play, however the basic safety was not manage by staff.
I was truly shocked when my kids told me that the woman working there told them to "Get off the playground and get out, your time is up." Felt like we got chased out during our nephews birthday because the woman said she had to be elsewhere. Safe to say we will never be going there again, too pricy for the unprofessional customer service we received. Also, keep and eye on kids if they linger outside because some homeless people hang around next door to this chipmunks.
Very good cafe to engage kids, worth the price. Easy to spend 3-4 hours and for kids to drain energy.
This place is run by someone who is inconsiderate and doesn’t take accountability for any issues or concerns voiced. You can see that in how they respond to the 1 star feedback given by the public. I have been here twice in the last 4 months. A birthday party after hours and a play date. Issues: - No aircon for a party that has hired the full venue. - Layout wasn’t thought through properly. There are too many tables in a small cramped space and you are literally sitting back to back with no space to walk through. - The place is dirty with rubbish and crumbs in the play area. - Employees aren’t welcoming at front desk. They just look at you and wait for you to say something. - There’s a lady Aditi who apparently is the manager but doesn’t give off these vibes since she rushes you out the door and charges you by the minute until you get out. You can find her in the reviews too she rated this place 5 star lol what a joke. - The location of this children’s indoor playground is next to a 24/7 laundromat and Salvation Army so you will find that you can barely get a car park. Take some accountability in the feedback your business has received and make the appropriate changes!
Amazing facilities for babies crawling and walking, also our 7-9 year old enjoyed themselves, everything is clean, all the machines are in working order and we were also greeted and given information when we arrived which is not something I’m used to it was really nice thank you so much
We recently had our nephews first birthday at New Lynn Chipmunks but sadly ended up disappointed with the overall service! The venue was alright and the kids had fun on the playground area. However, the manager/owner who was operating the place her name is Aditi - made it extremely uncomfortable for us while we hosted our baby nephews birthday. It felt like she was watching over our shoulders the entire 2.5 hours that we had booked the place. Some examples, was her constant oversight of all our children on the playground and coming up to our parents telling them to watch their kids and get them down. Also during our prayer - she was eyeing out my sister and pointing to her watch trying to prompt us that our time was running out and to hurry up and get out. At one point in the night she also said she has plans so obviously wasn't willing to be flexible with time. Note that we ended up paying an additional $100 to extend our time by 30 mins and she also ended up taking $50 out of my brother's refundable deposit. Her reasoning was that we went overtime cleaning up the place and although we left the place in a good clean condition when we left, she made a comment to my partner ''You call this clean?'' - perhaps she wanted us to wipe down all the tables, benches and do a professional carpet clean on the carpets ? Overall, if you're an pacific islander - Chipmunks New Lynn might not be for you as they are culturally insensitive and not flexible to extend your time. There is also a lot better places out there - we will not be going back again. PS, it's also located in the middle of New Lynn 24/7 Laundrymat and Salvation Army so there are a lot of dodgy people around and homeless - not ideal.
