This place is incredible. The grilled cheese sandwiches and breakfast buns were absolutely to die for, fries also on point and the sweet cinnamon roll and coffee was perfect for washing it down. Portion sizes were perfect, and everything was reasonably priced! Hare & Turtle you stunner. Located in blockhouse bay auckland this spot is tucked away but you can immediately tell its popular from the swathes of people stopping by. The service was perfect from ordering to it being delivered - super friendly staff and very helpful.

This place probably had the best cinnamon roll I ever had. Never had it gone down so easily along with coffee. So soft. My only criticism is since the cafe is so good and busy, it would really do with more seating/tables. Service was really great as soon as you walk in.

Great little Cafe in the neighbourhood. Very warm welcoming and kind staff The beef sandwich is delicious but prefer the Bacon and egg bun as the sauce is more flavoursome Iced Latte and iced chocolate are refreshing, and cinnamon bun tastes good as well. Expecting different kinds of food on the menu in the future;

Super impressed by the cinnamon roll and iced maple latte I had here. Delicious. Coffee has been mostly a miss at most places I’ve been to in Auckland but this definitely was not one of them. Very friendly staff too!

This place is good but be warned that they do not have the breakfast menu that is in some of the older photos. I was pretty bummed they didn’t have pancakes or other brunch items when I arrived- but they do have two breakfast sandwiches available amongst a menu of more lunch-type sandwiches and cinnamons rolls that did not disappoint! The coffee was also very good and they had lots of options for tea as well.

We had a nice catch up over breakfast burgers at the Hare and the Turtle They have a very very limited menu, which mainly includes burgers and sandwiches They have good coffee and at one point people queued out the door, in the rain for it! Don't expect a traditional breakfast. It's only sandwiches and burgers They've removed all of that, so don't go on previous reviews and photos I ordered the fish burger, expecting a fillet or patty, but it was a soft mixed fish and mayonnaise concoction. It was fine, but not what I wanted. It's also quite small It is also very very expensive. $15 for a smallish burger is quite dear as is a whopping $8 for a bowl of fries. Their famous attraction is their pastries, which include Chelsea and cream filled bunsall made on site, including their buns and bread I ordered a chelsea bun and cream bun for take away, which came in at $9.50! When I got home they gave me a cream bun and a pink bun. I was very upset. My mum and I used to share a Chelsea bun every Sunday after church in South Africa, and I was so looking forward to reliving the nostalgia. The pink bun is ok, lots of thick sweet icing, but only one middle glob. Parking: It's narrow and difficult to get in and out

It was the perfect half-way stop off on the way home from visiting a school in West Auckland a couple of weeks ago. What a Friday treat it was!!! We love a menu that isn't complicated that simply has a few good quality items. We are still talking about the grilled cheese sandwich and the outstanding customer service. There's a few tables outside too with a bit of protection from the elements if, like us, you're not keen on taking your mask off indoors. We're looking forward to going back :

Hare and Turtle is a little hidden gem. We were really guttered that we missed there cinnamon buns. But, the selection we got we really enjoyed. Surprisingly, the chips were the best thing we got, super crunchy and perfectly cooked. Sandwich’s we’re also pretty decent as well.

Got to say it’s one of the best coffee shops in this neighborhood… nice vibe and friendly staff. The whole Café is Small but cozy. The coffee is amazing, highly recommend. Tried the sandwich egg plus bacon, yummy! Will go back again!

Getting my coffee from here since day one pretty much. Long time. Ikr. Amazing food great service lovely people and simple ambience and the best coffee. Must visit place in Auckland for coffee and food and quality time hanging in here on a nice sunny day.
