Gold Star Bakery & Espresso

This place is Awesome. The cakes and pastries are so fresh and delicious. My go to is the strawberry shortcake so light and not too sweet. They also have this incredible good thing called a meat pie and yes I am addicted!!! The potato one is good too. Yuuumm

Very strange. I take my dog on long walks and always enjoy stopping at different bakery’s to get usually a croissant for the way. Every time I pick up my dog and order very quickly so we can be in an out. Not only is it never a problem but bakery’s love him and always seem to appreciate it. I stopped here today and right as I was about to order the woman working cut me off and said “did you see our sign?” I actually didn’t know what she was talking about and cheerfully thought maybe there some kind of “special of the day” sign she was telling me about, so I said “no! :” and she says “can you go look at it” I was confused, so she said “is he a service animal?” I quickly realized what was happening and said “no, are dogs not allowed” and said, with a rude smirk “no”. I found this to be very rude and honestly kind of hurtful? But more than anything unbenefitial to her, I was about to quickly order and be in and out. I guess I know which bakery to not stop at anymore. Rude and condescending workers here

I usually never write reviews but I have to share my experience with this bakery. I absolutely give it a 10/10 everything is super delicious me and my best friend just happened to stumble into this hidden gem but let me tell you everything is freshly made and prices are great! Would definitely recommend!

I personally prefer breads of Mush's, which is in the same mall, to this bakery. I go there because they have more sweet items and accept credit card. My favorite sweet is Mikasa chocolate crunchy cake $1.95.

My absolute favourite I go few times a week since my local here in Hollywood!! What’s shocking is how fresh and how amazing everything is yet sooo cheap , may God bless this place !!

Worst customer service I came to this bakery to order a cake 20 days in advance an Aynee ir Any told me to come the next day. She didn’t even took my order she just told me to come back a week prior the date .

Delicious, good variety, and reasonable prices, good customer service too.

THE FOOD AND SWEETS ARE GREAT, BUT THE STAFF HERE DO NOT SEEM TO LIKE WAITING ON THE PUBLIC. I AGREE WITH PREVIOUS REVIEW A TALL IS RUDE. THEY DO NOT KNOW WHAT WAITING ON THE PUBLIC IS. HARDLY A WELCOMING SMILE. I FEEL VERY UNCOMFORTABLE. I WORKED RETAIL OVER 37 YEARS AND KNOW HOW TO TREAT THE PUBLIC. ALL THE GREAT FOOD WONT DO MUCH GOOD IF THE STAFF IS NOT WARM. THIS WAS MY FIRST VISIT IN OVER 6 MONTHS BECAUSE OF THIS. I AM SORRY I CAME BACK.

Five stars would be for the prices alone. SOOO fair! But then there’s the delicious and amazing quality of everything they bake! Five stars! So I guess that means they’re a 10 star. You can’t beat this place. The last non-over-inflated place in LA. GO HERE and support them!
