What I love is the family room separated from the other side. We kind of had our own kitchen and toilet.nEverything was quiet, clean and tidy. Kids loved the garden with fejoas, apples, grapes, and veggies.nWe got a family room with 1 queen bed and 2 bulkbeds = 4 single beds. Room was small to load our luggages, but it's not a big deal.nPrice was so good. Highly recommend this place

Very lovely people who own and run the bug backpackersnHad a really good stay very relaxing and close to all shops and the hospital.nA few People have left some bad reviews in the past and because of it the bug backpackers has suffered.nI can tell you from what me and my partner have experienced from our time at the bug is an excellent service nice beds and bedding clean facilities lovely people and they have a really good biscuit jarnnThanks Bug backpackers we really enjoyed our stay

Staff was absolutely amazing, kind and understanding. I booked one of the private rooms and had a wonderful experience. Its about a 20 minute walk into town aswell so its in a great area! Such a lovely place and atmosphere

Very odd setup. Seems like it is run by an older family that also lives there. Weird vibe and we had food stolen which I have never had happen in a hostel

The management who run the place are incredibly helpful and kind. The kitchens and living rooms are all neat and tidy. I stayed in a shared bunk room of six, which was a bit cramped but ok. The other guests are a mix of travellers, permanent residents and others! We had a few visits from the police and a bit of yelling when one guest was set straight by the manager for being an idiot. All-on-all it's a homely hostel with everything you need for a comfortable stay.
