Grampians Reserve Viewing Platform

Stayed in an air b&B just below the bushline for 5 days.nExplored the variety of tracks around this area daily.nThere is a variety of terrain to choose from, straight up and down or nice and casual on level ground.nBeautiful mix of natiive bush and open areas with an abundance of awesome views.nOne can also navigate and design their own trail made up of the mix of trails on hand.nAt the city end, you can jump off the track and wander into Nelson city for a coffee.nGreat walk, easily accessible if your staying in Nelson.

If you like walking up hills and being rewarded with great views then this is the place for you. Multiple routes are available to get up the hill and once up you get to take in beautiful views of the bay.

Good walk but any way to the top involves serious ascent and takes about an hour. Don't bother going to the very top where the transmitter is, there's no view, go to the signposted viewpoint where there is a toilet. Several round trips are possible, all have good views. Dogs on leads please, there are sheep and weka about. Mountain bike are allowed on some tracks but there are much better rides locally.

The climb up is exhausting, but you get rewarded with stunning views and when you are up, it offers easy tracks without too much height differences

Very challenging - don’t go to the tower. There is nothing to see. Instead, go to the lookout a few hundred meters from the top.
