Following the sudden illness of our father, we had very little time to search for or arrange appropriate care. It was an incredibly unsettling and traumatic time for him and for us, as he was unable to return to his home. In the midst of this urgency and emotion, Terrence Kennedy House became a place of comfort, compassion, and peace.nnFrom the moment we arrived, the team handled everything with the utmost love, care, and attention — helping settle our father into what would become his final home. We were looking for somewhere close to us, homely and welcoming, with professional 24/7 care that didn’t feel clinical or hospital-like. Although beds were scarce, we knew instantly that TK House was the right place, and we were incredibly fortunate to secure a space.nnThe environment was bright and sunny, with opportunities for residents to participate in activities if they wished. Visiting was encouraged and made possible at almost any time, always handled responsibly. Our father was cared for with exceptional kindness and professionalism, and we as a family were always made to feel welcome.nnLisa, the Manager, Cris, the Senior Nurse, and every member of the team do an extraordinary job. Communication was consistent and thoughtful — any change in our father’s condition was promptly shared and followed up with care and clarity.nnTo the entire team at Terrence Kennedy House — thank you. Your compassion, dedication, and warmth made an immeasurable difference during one of the most difficult times in our lives. You not only cared for our father with dignity and love, but you also supported us as a family every step of the way. We will always be grateful for the comfort and peace you provided.
A very dear friend of mine has recently moved in to Terence Kennedy House as it was no longer safe for her to live at home alone. I cannot speak highly enough of the care that has been shown to my friend by everyone there - management, reception and caregivers. The hospital is warm and welcoming with lovely rooms and gardens and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them as a wonderful home for someone needing hospital level care.
The team at Terrence Kennedy House cared for my Mum during her last days. Such a hard time for our family, but we were so overwhelmed by the gentle care and respect they showed us throughout. We chose Terrence Kennedy House because of the homelike feel, the lovely aroma of food cooking when you walk in the door and the genuine and friendly staff who work there. Thank you everyone for caring for my mum. Clare and Robin
Our mother was suffering from advanced COPD when she took up residence at Terrance Kenedy House just over a year agonThe amazing team welcomed her into the home providing a family environment of support, understanding and friendship.nI know working with people with these significant health issues that are not only a challenge in themselves but also affect the way these people react to the world and other people including the care givers and team. Our mother was no exception and even though she had her moments she did really appreciate all of the care and respect as well as the understanding she was shown every day.nEven though she had severe health issues that deteriorated over time, the amazing team of true professionals no matter what roles each person held always went the extra mile to enable residents to do the best they can even though these opportunities are not always taken up as people’s freedom of choice is in the forefront of their culture.nCommunications are awesome and our mother and ourselves was always kept updated what was happening both physically and mentally. There was never a time that we felt uninformed and updated as well as providing the facts when decisions needed to be made and not sugar coating them.nThe facility is kept very clean without any of the issues I have seen in other facilities. We also felt we could have open discussions and early interventions without prejudice. As with any place, it is never as good as home but is the next best thing.nThe people and culture are so important, and the family orientated caring environment really makes this place special. Although our mother was too unwell to really enjoy most of the facilities and opportunities we could see there was still a lot on to keep residents engaged and entertained.nIn the last few days, the team were all amazing showing her dignity, care, love and true respect even after she passed. Communication was open and honest, and they did an amazing job of keeping her as pain free and comfortable as possible. For this, they have our eternal thanks. This will be remembered by us always.nWe will miss our visits and seeing their team as well as other residents but will remember them always.nnSharon and Ron Matthews, Debra and Bill Wood
My mother only spent a few weeks with Terence Kennedy House but the time that she did spend was one of great care, respect and a very supportive environment. The love and dedication that the staff gave her at the end of her life was outstanding. The family was very grateful that she was with these amazingly dedicated people. I would highly recommend this house to care for a loved one.
