Today, I finally had the chance to dine at the internet-famous restaurant I've been eager to try for years — Taiko. The dishes were visually stunning and exquisitely crafted! The flavors were delightful; even my usually picky child enjoyed it! The portion sizes were generous as well; despite ordering three sets for our party of four, we couldn't quite finish everything. We had pre-booked our table, and the staff had thoughtfully arranged a baby seat for us before we arrived, which was very thoughtful. I will definitely be returning.
What a very good surprise this restaurant!!nI ordered a tofu salad and the tofu was TOTALLY AWESOME!!! To be honest, I never ate a tofu like this in my life!!nI also took some nigaris and it was ohhh wow - very good!!!nThe portions were gorgeous so, I didn't realize I ordered for 2 persons!nThe waiter was also very passionate about perfectly performing the service, and he did with a lot of care!! Another waitress gave me one of the plate I ordered, with a lovely smile and a very good energy!!nWaw, I really like this restaurant!!nThank you for everything!!
The foods were great here. Very big portion as well. I would recommend the double eel for 2 people as it was massive portion. Prawn tempura was tasty.
Loved this spot in Ponsonby. Food was absolutely terrific! Service was very kind. 100% recommend. One of my favourite Japanese restaurants in town.nnWe came back the other day with a few friends for an early dinner and had a feast. Tried a few different dishes. The nigiris are top. Scalops with garlic sauce are delicious one of my favourite dishes. They have good vegetarian options also. And all the staff is lovely and attentive.
There is a reason they are known for their eel dishes. The deluxe eel dish was out of this world!nnThis is the first time I was able to eat eel to my hearts content. I highly recommend this for anyone who loves eel too.nnThere was so much food in this one set menu that we could finish it and had to take half of the rice eel dish home. Obviously happy to do so as it meant I got to eat it a second time.
