Delicious and tender pork katsu with a great range of Japanese foods on their menu. Their cold noodles are fantastic to beat the summer heat, and they use genuine ingredients such as the prawn tempura where they use whole prawns instead of the usual small prawn tempuras you get at sushi shops. The restaurant can get quite busy so waiting for a table is expected but they take your name and number and will call you when your table is ready. Table wait time for us was about 10mins max so you can always go next door and get a coffee while you wait.nRestaurant was really clean and tidy and staff service is friendly.
This katsu udon restaurant was fantastic. It opens at 5 PM, and as soon as the doors opened, people flooded in, quickly filling up all the tables.nnMy partner and I visited before heading to the Coldplay concert, taking a bus from Sunnynook Station.nnWanting a hearty meal, we both ordered from the set menu. I chose the Pork Katsu with warm udon, while my partner opted for the cold udon set, adding an extra bowl of rice.nnThe portions were generous, the flavors perfectly balanced, and everything was absolutely delicious.nnDespite the crowded atmosphere, the service was excellent, allowing us to fully enjoy our meal. Highly recommended!
This is one of the best fried pork loin I have ever tried in Auckland. Weekday lunchtime they offer lunch discount which is less than 20 dollars and you get one fried pork with rice and udon. Quality is great as well, meat are juicy and tender. The only downside is they get pretty crowded during lunch hour so you may need to wait a bit but is definitely worth it.
The karaage chicken with cornflake coating was sooo delicious! Udon and soba noodle soup were great compliments. Service was good, restaurant was clean.
Quick turnaround of food - feels healthy despite largely being katsu based, choice of meat we’ve had have been lean and not as fatty. While healthy a little bit on fat would make meat less dry.nnWould recommend katsu set - dipping of truffle salt, jalapeños, wasabi and ginger goes really well with meat. Pork loin was a bit dry, but tenderloin was drier.nnThey have a king katsu set that we’d seen other tables try - good value!
