Been here a few times now, has become our go to place for katsu. We’ve never had a negative experience here - food is always consistent. My personal favourite is their curry udon and their katsu is always cooked deliciously. Their karaage chicken is worth a try as well, it’s always fresh and juicy. Generous portion sizes. Staff are efficient and the dining area is always clean.
Great place for a casual lunch like we did. They had a lunch special going which was $16 for a Katsu rice bowl +$3 for a side udon.nnI had the spicy sauce for my katsu bowl but I especially liked the miso paste they used for the alternative option as it was most likely a Nagoya Hacchou miso which is rich in flavour and has thick texture which goes great with katsu.nnUdon was traditional with a variety of toppings and complimentary Shichimi spice which comes with the order for people who like a bit of spice to the heartwarming dish.nnWaitress was great, very kind and inviting. All in all it was a generous experience for the price, flavour and service. Thanks!
Good quality Katsu served with rice, salad and miso soup.nnThe Katsu was cooked to perfection, crispy on the outside and tender inside. The sauce as creamy and sweet, which did complement it well.nnThe portion size was great and left full.nnEasy parking outside and plenty of seats around inside.nnStaff were friendly and the service was quick.
Delicious and tender pork katsu with a great range of Japanese foods on their menu. Their cold noodles are fantastic to beat the summer heat, and they use genuine ingredients such as the prawn tempura where they use whole prawns instead of the usual small prawn tempuras you get at sushi shops. The restaurant can get quite busy so waiting for a table is expected but they take your name and number and will call you when your table is ready. Table wait time for us was about 10mins max so you can always go next door and get a coffee while you wait.nRestaurant was really clean and tidy and staff service is friendly.
This katsu udon restaurant was fantastic. It opens at 5 PM, and as soon as the doors opened, people flooded in, quickly filling up all the tables.nnMy partner and I visited before heading to the Coldplay concert, taking a bus from Sunnynook Station.nnWanting a hearty meal, we both ordered from the set menu. I chose the Pork Katsu with warm udon, while my partner opted for the cold udon set, adding an extra bowl of rice.nnThe portions were generous, the flavors perfectly balanced, and everything was absolutely delicious.nnDespite the crowded atmosphere, the service was excellent, allowing us to fully enjoy our meal. Highly recommended!
