It’s the best restaurant in the north shore! I’ve never had this much soft and juicy port katsu before. It didn’t smell of the normal pork at all so I could fully enjoy my lunch! And I love the variety of sauce choices! Warm and friendly customer service and the cozy vibe just make me chill and happy Definitely coming back for more
It was a busy Tues lunch time. Simple straightforward menu. We got the Katsu don and tempura udon. Both were pretty average. The katsu don was too soupy and wet, which makes the eating experience more similar to eating a stew with rice. The prawn tempura was well made though I would rather the prawns based to the side, by the time the dish arrived the crunchiness was soaked through with the broth.
Manoah is family-friendly, casual restaurant, where most dishes are suitable for kids. The katsu and udon were cooked to perfection. Their udon reminds me of the flavour that I had in Japan, and one I can’t find in any other restaurants in New Zealand–I highly recommend adding an udon on the side. Some menu items have unique specialty sauces, such as the spicy katsu, which has the perfect amount of spice. The katsu serving sizes are generous and very filling. Manaoh provides a clean and comfortable environment, with friendly service throughout the meal.
Pork loin katsu was super delicious and tender but not that juicy. The set had truffle salt, wasabi and mustard to come with the katsu but still preferred original flavour. The miso pork tenderloin katsu was not that great and it was very porky. Portion looked small but very filling. Service was fast and friendly.
Worth the trip to cross the harbour bridge! Very good quality and still a very reasonable price, would recommend this place. Seating might be tricky since busy, but after 1.30pm alot more tables became free.
