Smash Palace

Seemed like a killer place to hang on a nice day. Brought wife and kids by for a quick beer while visiting Queenstown. Good beer selection. Decent snacks. Good music. You could do much worse.

Can’t say enough about this place. It’s not swanky or fancy but the staff are incredible and the atmosphere is awesome. We decided to have a drink after being kicked out of a function venue we had hired and spent a lot of money at and were still spending I might add. The gates were closed when we got there and last orders had just been called but we were welcomed in with a big smile from the friendly gate man. We got a drink and were allowed to finish our drink in our own time and leave when we were ready. The bar staff were amazing and friendly - in stark contrast to the barstaff at the function - well done Smash Palace. We will be back!!

Such a cool place that even has atmosphere on a Tuesday evening! Great burgers and beers.

Awesome outdoor beer garden serving oval beer from an old converted bus. We had fries and enjoyed some beers in the sun. It has a great vibe and there were a few kids also.

Asked about moving a table for a big group family reunion, very low key crowd was told no & that maybe we should move on, we were shocked... we took our business elsewhere,lined there pockets & had a great time! Hopefully that person doesn't scare away too many more customers before they get fired! Other than that, I'm sure its great

Smash Palace is a solid institution and I hope it remains long into Christchurch's future. Its a nice distillation of the city's post quake spirit and kiwi ingenuity. Everything new in the rebuild is all a bit too shiny for my liking and this reminds me of what the Dux used to feel like. Good music, nice staff and security.

I was invited to attend "biker night" as an international visitor with a group of riders - for beers & burgers. The food and beer didn't disappoint at all, the big "buzz kill" came to our table in the form of a "glassie" who took exception to a small whistle for attention when his back was turned to me I was holding a plate for him to collect and take back to the kitchen. I'll describe this person as a stockie male with curly locks tied back and poor posture. Threats were made against me for my helpful gesture and a proper verbal reprimand was delivered in front of the group. In my experience, I would consider other options if this hostility is the usual hospitality shown to visitors. I not seeking a reply from the owner of this establishment, just understand your brand is only as good as the product and delivery.

Really good burger, high quality! Best fries in South island and I'm coming from the land of fries! The aioli is home made and delicious. The service is really nice too

When I am traveling through Christchurch, Smash Palace is always my go to stop for a delicious burger. They also have some really great beers on tap.

Fantastic as Usual. Thursday bike nights are always popular and on a warm night like tonight a big crowd having a great time!
