Went in for lunch, ordered 2x kids meals mini hot dogs and nuggetswhich came with 2x mini hot dogs and 5 nuggets, 2x loaded wedges and a burger. The kids meals were smaller than what would be expected for kids size and came with a surprise side salad, which had some kind of dressing that leaked over the plate and onto the nuggets. Surprisingly the kids didn’t eat those. The chips were so over cooked that most of them were see through, the potato replaced with grease, totally inedible for toddlers. The burger patty was overcooked to the point it was charred black, dry and stiff as a board. The loaded wedges themselves could’ve been salvageable if it weren’t for the 2 intact pieces of flaccid streaky bacon slapped on top, stinking of old grease which seeped down into the wedges, tainting the entire dish. Everything was tainted with the taste and smell of old oil and grease. For food that is clearly been frozen at some point in the near past it was shockingly bad, never mind the price point which screamed “this food is so expensive it better be bloody delicious”. 10/10 would not recommend. Ever. To anyone. Pictures show the amount of chips left after the grease sticks had been removed.
This has to be one of the most over priced meals I have ever paid for.nI requested a 250 gram rump steak cooked medium rare and it should of come with salad and chips.nI also brought a seafood chowder that had no seafood in the chowder.nIt was the worst meal I have ever had in Christchurch.nThe steak was like chewing 10 year old chewing gum.nIt was cooked weldone and the salad was absolutely crap.nPresentation was like they just took a dump on the plate.nThe chowder tasted like you were eating sand.nI couldn't even eat the chowder and it was a great disappointment.nI also brought 2 real fruit ice creams, and the staff had no hygiene rules in place and went from cleaning up to holding the cone with their bare hands and making the ice cream.nWe were absolutely disappointed in the food and services.nAlso the tables were never wiped down and even after we requested it to be wiped, it was like they just moved the dirt around the table.nI would highly recommend you give this place a miss.nI spent close to $90 and feel very ripped off now.
Cafe: We were charged incorrectly for 2 icecreams. It took 15mins for 1 smoothie to come out and was so small for the price. It also had no mango flavor at all, just tasted like frothy milk.nRestaurant: Had the $25 rump steak meal for lunch which had a strange sweet honey type sauce on the salad and tomatoes were cold an soggy salad wasn't fresh. Partner had the chicken sandwich. Came with very minimal chips for the price. Staff are friendly enough but food and decor needs improved.
We went to have Dinner on Our Parents Anniversary and booked First table. The food was great staffs were friendly and Atmosphere was great.Specially View of New Brighton Pier from the Restaurant was Mesmerising.
The restaurant was cold. We sat with our jackets on to eat our dinner, along with other patrons.nI ordered the Flinstone steak, however it was just a flat piece of Ribeye, no bone attached. The meal was cold and the chips covered in mushroom sauce making them all soggy.nNo steak knives, definitely needed with the toughness of the steak. Waiter cleared half the tables plates away while the other half if the table were still eating.nA shame that the fish of the day is always Vietnamese Basa instead of a locally caught fish, given the location of the restaurant.nWill give this place a miss next time.
