Rothesay Bay Beach Reserve

Quite a popular swimming beach in Auckland's North Shore. Gets really busy in the summer holidays and you may not find any parking here. Have all basic facilities such as shower, toilets, parking, picnic benches etc. and also there is a walking track that goes along the cliff edge.

Convenient nice beach with good parking. Not as busy as other popular beaches in the area which is a bonus. Playground for the kids, big lawn space and changing room/toilet. Shallow for quite a little way out so good for the kids and the adults can go a bit further but still keep an eye on the children.

I love coming to this beach to wind down after a long day. It's tucked away and there are no hectic crowds.nWhat's great is they also have decent public toilets and expansive lawns for the kids to play on - or to relax with a picnic basket. Dogs are allowed on this beach, and I discovered a lovely cave here too!

Quiet beach except for summer holidays. Great for kiddies.

3 stars because the parking spaces here are so limited its not worth the effort of you have lots of picnic gear to carry...the bathrooms are very clean and there is a place to rinse off...the beach is small yet there is a lovely playground for the kids...I'd avoid the location on a weekend/holiday where lots of people are expected yet, on a mid-week day it would be worth the effort.
