Please train your cashier to call out orders when they are ready. She goes to the kitchen, collects the order and brings it out to the front. Leaves it on the bench. Immediately switches her attention to a person wanting to order for 10 minutes. While my food is sitting on the bench. Email said food will take 30 minutes. It took me an hour. That extra 10 minutes because of cashier incompetence is frustrating when you’re hungry. Edit: I have updated my review from 1 star based on the business response. The wait is ok. The front of house just need to be trained on calling out orders when they bring it out from the kitchen, instead of letting it sit cold on the counter and switching attention to take new orders. I really hope nobody lost their job last night…
Tasty and tender ribs. Sharing plate was generous amount. Good for 4 people
You made us wait 2 hours for our food!!! Bad costumer service, we tried to get a refund but she wouldn’t refund us. She told us we had to wait until 9:00pm for the store to close and there’s no way we would wait from 7pm-9pm. Finally we got our food, gosh it took a while and thank you very much for wasting our time. Fun beach day. Ruined.
Some parts of the Ribs are nice but many sections are very dry and chewy, literally hard to swallow. Use to be so, so much better, tender and juicy. Chips and onion rings are ok though. Will not purchase again unfortunately
Really enjoyed a nice good meal here. The ribs were very tender and tasty. The burger with mushroom sauce has a nice rich taste to it. The wings were nice and juicy as well. One small let down for me is that you get a large amount of chips with no dressing. You have to pay extra for tomato or aioli dip which is a bit disappointing. I purchased two aioli containers and one tomato sauce container, and it was $2.50 extra, which is a bit steep in my opinion. They also sell peppermint crisp tart which is a really nice South African dessert. For $3.00 a tub, it's definitely worth the price if you have any room after eating your mains. Despite the whole sauce shenanigans, the food is still good and it was really satisfying.
Plenty of items on the menu to choose from, all of which sounds delicious. We got the rack of ribs, added fries and onion rings. Generous servings, enough for 3 people. The ribs were nice and soft, very tasty. Not too overwhelming. Hot chips were cooked and salted perfectly, nice crunch and soft inside. Surprise fav were the onion rings. A little oily but suited very well with the ribs. Not a lot of seating inside but the beach is only a stroll away.
Been my go to from the original owner with the South African style of spare until today. Chewey, hard & not what we get normally. What a waste of money. Never going back. 10 yeats of loyalty gone.
We bought Ribs, burgers and chips and everything was perfect! By far the best ribs I have had in NZ
Delicious takeaway spot. The price can be seen as expensive but its worth it. Ribs are tender and flavorful, chips are always delicious and the burgers have an awesome grilled taste and they are big! Onion rings are also a very nice side to have!
The beach box is great, quality food, the chicken wings actually have meat on them, take note KFC.
