Went there for lunch on Saturday. The place was quite. My wife had the Pumpkin & caramelized onion Arancini $19 which was really good; crispy on the outside creamy in the inside. I had the Steak, eggs and chips. It was a big disappointment. The steak was tough and chewy. We let the staff know when we paid. I reiterated that it's not a complaint but just letting them aware the quality of the steak and is not seeking compensation. Both staff acknowledged our intentions and appreciated our feedback.

Protocol Bar on Colombo Street is one of those easy go-to spots in Christchurch that just always delivers.nnI’ve been to Protocol Bar a bunch of times now and it’s consistently good - solid food, good drinks, and a really nice outdoor area that’s perfect for a chill arvo or after work catch up.nnWhat’s really cool is how much they back the local community. They’ve sponsored our Sydenham Junior Rugby team with Player of the Day vouchers, which the kids absolutely love. It’s a small thing but it goes a long way - great to see a local bar actually supporting local sport and the community around them.nnEasy spot for dinner, drinks, or even a function. No fuss, just good vibes and reliable every time.nnWould definitely recommend Protocol if you’re around Sydenham or Colombo Street and want a laid-back local that does things right.

We live in Halswell and Protocol is our choice for close Bar/ restaurant. Staff are friendly and acknowledge customers and often by name. A winter Sunday lunch roast would be brilliant and NOT pork or chicken

A great night out for 8 people. A mix of orders including the seafood platter, lamb for 2, steak and fish.nAll meals were well presented and tasty.nGreat staff, we were well looked after.

My husband and I had dinner here recently and thoroughly enjoyed our meal. Cooked to perfection and very tasty. Staff were pleasant and attentive and we will definitely eat here again soon!
