No.4 Bar and Restaurant

A lovely bar and restaurant in Merivale. We decided to come here after reading the positive views and were not disappointed! Amazing food and drinks with very friendly staff. However staff were slow when it was not busy. Relatively priced for the portions!

Friendly staff. Good atmosphere.nWe tried T-bone steak, mussel pot, burger, lamb racks. Everything was so great.

Much improved under new ownership, food was very good, bar service and choice of drinks good. Our waitress was superb, English woman, very very professional, attentive and efficient. One gripe, originally wanted to book the outdoor private area, told $250 non refundable fee- I declined. We spent over $1,000.00 during the evening, as funds were from our Lotto syndicate paying a $250 fee was a waste of money and an onerous cash grab by the bar. We booked a leaner in the general area outside, avoided the cost.

This is our second visit two weeks in a row. Last week we had the No 4 Plank and 3 raw oysters. Last Saturday we had the crab burger and chicken liver parfait. Obviously the food is delicious and that's why we came back again. Both times we were served by lovely, friendly Maltilde. Will come back again to try other dishes on the lunch menu.
