No.4 Bar and Restaurant

Food was okay... the coconut shrimp risotto was all coconut cream and not much balance to the taste. Seafood chowder too salty. Steak was good and fish and chips not bad.

This was hands down one of the best dining experiences we had — and what a perfect way to wrap up our last day in New Zealand!nnWe really wanted to try a Wellington steak, and this was one of the few places that offered it. Since we weren’t too hungry, we asked the owner if we could share one portion between the two of us. Not only was she totally understanding, but she also thoughtfully plated it into two separate dishes for us — such attention to detail!nnThe steak itself was absolutely delicious, and the service was warm and welcoming throughout. The biggest surprise? They had fresh Bluff oysters — not the boxed kind you see everywhere these days, but the real deal. That’s incredibly rare now!nnIf we ever return to New Zealand, we’d definitely come back here again. Highly recommended.

We had an amazing Friday lunch at No.4. The service from the team was on point and the pie of the day was lamb, chimmichurri and feta. Came with hand cut chips and a nice slaw. Always a great selection of beers to choose from. Thank you.
