Had a wonderful dining experience at Prego. The service was outstanding—warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming without being intrusive. The food was absolutely delicious, beautifully presented, and full of authentic flavours. Every dish felt thoughtfully prepared and perfectly balanced. From start to finish, everything was seamless and enjoyable.nnHighly recommend Prego for anyone looking for excellent food, impeccable service, and a lovely atmosphere. Will definitely be back!
After seeing Prego as a highly recommended restaurant from a lot of people, my partner and I came here for our anniversary dinner. And this place did NOT disappoint. Our server was Lila I hope I’ve spelt her name right, and we were amazed by her in depth knowledge of the menu and specials. The food was divine! We ordered the polenta fries, calamari, zuppa di pesce, and the gnocchi. Such beautiful flavours and just enough to be filling but not uncomfortable. The atmosphere was beautiful, all staff were super friendly, and the low lighting gave it a more intimate feel to our night. We will definitely be back.
I had a wonderful dinner tonight at Prego Restaurant and it was truly one of the highlights of my evening in Ponsonby.nnThe atmosphere of the restaurant is warm, vibrant and full of character. It feels lively yet relaxed, and you can really sense why Prego has been such a beloved restaurant in Auckland for many years.nnI ordered the seafood linguine and it was absolutely delicious. The pasta was cooked perfectly al dente and the seafood was fresh and generous – prawns, mussels and shellfish beautifully balanced with garlic, herbs and a light sauce. The squeeze of lemon on the side lifted the dish and made the flavours even brighter.nnWhat made the experience even more enjoyable was the excellent service. Our server Lila was wonderful – friendly, attentive and genuinely warm. Her bright smile and thoughtful service made the whole evening feel welcoming and relaxed. She checked in at just the right moments and made sure everything was perfect without ever being intrusive.nnGreat food, a beautiful Ponsonby atmosphere, and outstanding service.nnHighly recommended – and a special thank you to Lila for making the evening even more memorable!
Went for dinner. Food was so good. All the dishes and drinks were equally good. Market fish and Alfredo pasta are must try. Food is little pricey though.nStaff is very friendly and gave extra cheese for pasta. Highly recommend
We had an amazing experience at this restaurant. The food was fantastic and the service was incredible. We enjoyed the snapper fish, beetroot salad and saltimbocca chicken and potatoes. Highly recommended
