Went to Elmo's for lunch yesterday. Tried different dishes. Love the different flavors and presentation on the plate. Nice atmosphere and the waiter was awesome. Thank you
King fish crudo plate was yummy and was listed as a shared plate although I had it as a main due to dietery restrictions. It was a small potion. Busy place on a weekday night. Margarita pizza was the favorite of our group.
The food was okay overall, but nothing really stood out. The pizza was decent, but they didn't feel particularly memorable. It wasn't a bad meal, but it also wasn't anything that would make me eager to come back.nnThe atmosphere wasn't really to my liking. It was extremely loud, making it difficult to have a conversation with the people at our table without raising our voices. I understand that busy restaurants can be lively, but the noise level took away from the overall dining experience.
Had a very rich and aromatic truffle risotto with a generous glass of pink gin and tonic from the tap. Saxophone was playing live music. Positive atmosphere all around. Great place to meet with friends and family for a delicious meal.nI'm definitely going back for more!
We recently visited Elmo's for their much-anticipated bottomless brunch as a group of 5, paying $79 per head. Unfortunately, the experience fell well short of expectations due to poor service and a lack of basic hospitality.nnThe Good: To give credit where it's due, the food was great, and one particular waiter looked after us well and was a bright spot during the meal.nnThe Service Issues: Right from the start, our initial greeter/waiter was quite robotic. Despite the restaurant being relatively empty during our time there, we constantly had to flag down or raise our hands just to get new drinks ordered.nnThe Push-Out: Things turned sour towards the end of our brunch. We were rudely and repeatedly asked to leave the premises by multiple servers because another group had reserved our table. Even when we politely asked if we could move to an unreserved table—especially since a few of us were still actively buying drinks from the bar—they made us feel unwelcome.nnIt’s safe to say we won't be returning, and we would definitely not recommend it—especially when there are so many other places right along Ponsonby Road that actually want your business!
