My first ever trip to Waiheke and decided to wait and enjoy a late brunch yesterday morning and what a good decision that was!! The food was spot on and made to order requested slight changes to the advertised menu thank you so much for accommodating me being fussy with my eggs and bacon. The customer service was extremely high, the staff could not have done anything more to make the visit any better and the atmosphere was extremely relaxed and friendly. Would highly recommend and definitely worth a return visit.
Enjoyed delicious Brunch In a sunny day with a Fabulous view of Oneroa Beach. The sitting area is nice and cozy. Salad, Pasta and Tiramisu is mouth watering, must try this place if you are looking for an Italian cuisine. I always Support Local Restaurant
We took refuge from the rain here and had a lovely meal and drinks. It was so nice to sit underneath the mini patio roof and hear the rain patter above. The food was delicious! Absolutely exactly what we were looking for and didn’t even know it.
We ate twice at Fenice during our stay on the island. The first time was for lunch. Hubby and I had the Venison Carpaccio and the Calamari for a light lunch and the family we were dining with had a Capricciosa pizza. All were delicious. The Venison was flavourful and loved the capers. The Calamari was crisp on the outside and soft in the middle. Our family reported the pizza as being absolutely delicious with a beautiful base. For our evening meal a couple of days later, we had the Carpaccio again so good! and the Duck Pappardelle. Both delicious. The service was friendly, the wine list was well designed, and the atmosphere was fun, competent and relaxing. We'd definitely dine at Fenice again.
Fenice wins the Award for Waiheke’s WORST EVER dining experience!!!nnIf I could give a MINUS 5 star rating I would!nnWhy? The food was dismal – a tiny plate of limp floury ravioli for $40!? A small bowl of store-bought re-heated mushy calamari bits with NO flavour for $22!? The aubergine starter was waay over-battered, pizzas poorly dressed and undercooked.nnThe cafe was stuffy and HOT blowing out of the kitchen, the AC above our corner table was faulty blowing over our heads. The noise level was so loud we had to SHOUT at our guests over the table. Our waitress forgot to bring bread and starters came AFTER mains arrived. Altogether the most disorganised and disappointing dining experience I’ve ever had on Waiheke.nnAdding insult to injury the bill for 6 people 2 simple drinks each was over $500!nnI’ve been a Google Guide on Waiheke Island for 9 years with nearly 8 million views of my posts and photos. I love good food, and my ex-chef girlfriend and I love to discover wonderful places with fresh, authentic, delicious cuisine.nnSo hear me when I say categorically, Fenice FAILS MISERABLY to meet the standard. Don’t waste your money, try somewhere else.
