I have been going to this supermarket my entire life. 2 of the lovely and sweetest checkout ladies have been there for as long as I can remember, and all of the staff are so helpful and kind. The carpark up to the top is also SO convenient! Definitely easier access and better layout in my opinion compared to other NW like island bay.
Being Newtown residents for some 20 years we're fully familiar with all the local supermarkets from Newtown to Kilbirnie plus the city ones. We were delighted when shopping at New World Newtown last week being the first time we had been there since its refurbishment and recent new owner/management. It is a lovely, clean, well laid out shop with many bargains e.g. we purchased tomatoes at $1.99 per kg!!! The Deli and bakery is fabulous and we'd have to say we found the specialty cakes to be the nicest and least expensive we've seen in Wellington. The staff are polite, efficient, helpful and friendly. We are the resident committee of a local apartment complex and were shopping for our annual Xmas BBQ. The food was enjoyed by some 100 people, so much so that we are now all dedicated to doing our personal shopping at New World Newtown. So congratulations to the new Owner/Manager for the excellent facility and service!
Appalling service, no one at Deli at 5.45pm on a Sunday and despite ringing bell twice no one showed. Check out operator completely unconcerned. Never will I waste my time going to this store again.
The last 5 times I’ve been in, they’ve been completely out of cheap bread, and cheese. Lazy ass staff always standing around talking. bruh go ahead and stock them shelves lil bro.
