I do not recommend getting any fruit or vegetables here. You either get home to find the things like strawberries have been positioned so they look good but are rotten underneath, cucumbers are slimy once plastic is removed and anything else, if it’s good the day you buy it, it’s off by the next morning. Extremely disappointing and as a long time resident and customer, I won’t be returning. It pains me to not support local but I’ve lost too much money from issues like these at this supermarket

Following on from GeorgiePie’s review my mum had the same problem - brown mince mixed in with red mince. It was purchased on the 10th of June which is the day it was packed. When we contacted the owner their response was “The brown colour you saw in the centre of the mince is a well known and completely natural result of reduced oxygen exposure. This is something confirmed by a number of reputable sources and food safety authorities. It doesn’t mean the product is old or unsafe to eat.” I have never had this happen with mince that I have bought elsewhere. I showed the photo to a butcher and he said it looked strange and that he would be wary of eating it This supermarket has really gone down hill which is such a shame as it used to be great. As a local I do most of my shopping at New World Tawa now.
This supermarket needs to smarten up it's act. It is understaffed and the quality of their produce is average. The staff are rude when you ask them for help and I am sick of having to search through the nearly rotten produce to find fruit and vegetables that will last for a few days. I don't know why this supermarket has gone downhill so I will be shopping at New World Tawa from now on which is well staffed, great fresh produce and much more variety.
Rude staff! Expensive items. Gemma needs a lesson in customer service - no matter her views on people from different cultural backgrounds. Had stopped shopping here due to a prior poor experience but thought should give it a chance to support local, but never going back. Spend your hard earned money elsewhere.
