Looked at the item on the shelf - price prominently displayed as $12.99 see photo. Took it to the checkout, scanned it, price came up as $16.89. Queried it with the assistant. Was told “That’s the Clubcard price” I choose not to have clubcard. Went back to check on the shelf and found that was correct. But to see the tiny writing on the bottom of the label I had to bend down as it was on a low shelf. Something I hadn’t thought to do the first time.nI only noticed the difference because I wanted only this one item. If I’d been buying a whole basket of goods then the difference would have gone unnoticed.nDifficult to believe this is anything other than New World’s deliberate attempt to deceive its customers. If they were a reputable business they’d show both prices with equal prominence.nI went and bought it from another shop nearby for the other shop’s normal price of $13.99. So not only are New World trying to deceive me, they’re also deceiving their clubcard holders about the amount of savings
Small supermarket but it is still very well stocked. Even has a bakery inside that sells reasonably priced sandwiches and hot pies that seem popular during lunch hours. Be prepared to queue during peak hours- after work especially. But the lines move fast just need to be patient.
After being humiliated to the max bye some Maori person with a knife for know reason at all in the queue with twenty people watching . None of the staff not the secrerity did anything.. then when I mentioned it they just said it was a police matter . So saw the police and they said what can we do about it.
Convenient location in the city centre for buying some essentials e.g bottled water, fruits for hotel stay.
New world is always my best shopping place. The supermarket itself is well decorated and warmly presents its goods. I like their bakeries, especially muffins. This metro branch is busy but organized. You don't need to wait too long get your purchase done. Love it.
