Mulan

Food was awesome and portions were big for the price. We had a starter and 2 mains. Cocktails were normally priced in a restaurant or a bar and were delicious, especially the special martini. Service was relatively fast considering it was pretty busy. Would definitely recommend

Authentic Malaysian food with flavours that will make your taste buds tingle. Some of the dishes really have a bit of a spicy kick. Order mains and entrées to share, so you can try many different dishes. Best to book a table, as it can be busy. Plenty of parking on main road. Excellent service

Service was great and the staffs were accommodating. We ordered fried pork and prawn wonton, Penang Curry Kapitan and Pork Belly. All of the food we ordered were delicious and we really enjoyed it. My only comment is that we waited for about 40 minutes for our entrees to delivered at our table. It was a full house so probably the kitchen is a bit busy

Definitely perfect experience at restaurants We ate good food, lots of wonderful beers which recommended by manager. If someone wants to try Malaysian food, i can recommend this restaurant with no doubt. Thank you for your kindness + The food i love most was 'Beef masaman'

Went here for dinner on a Saturday night and the place was buzzing. Chose pork bao for entree which were soft and really tasty. Shared Beef Massaman curry and the signature dish Golden Shield for mains with rice and roti on the side. Absolutely delicious. Rating was given a 4 only because of the noise volume due to the close proximity of diners to one another. Service and food was 5 star.

I really enjoyed the atmosphere, the staff were great helping us choose our meal and giving us lots of tips. I was talked into having the special, it was very delicious. My partner is vegan and they had lots of options, the food came out really fast, which was great since we were starving!!

Mixed feelings with Mulan sadly. The service was kind and the decor/ambience is vibrant. We started off with the lamb momos which were great, but from there…not so good. The “golden shield” signature dish had far too much onion in it, it overpowered the dish. And the two main curries tasted nearly exactly the same - might have been poor ordering on my part - but sadly neither were particularly great. I found both a bit bland. It’s never nice when the service is so warm to have to give a review like this, but a restaurant needs to let its food do the talking.

Had a nice dinner at Mulan Malaysian Restaurant Birkenhead. Owned by Malaysian Indian Chef and the lady boss is very friendly and approachable. Can taste from the curry that it is cooked from scratch and not from commercial packaging. Lady boss said they only use coconut milk in their cooking, no diary. Laksa not very spicy, little missy had a lot of the laksa noodle by herself.. the Penang Curry also not super spicy, kids friendly too.
