White + Wong's

Tried W+W for the first time yesterday and was incredibly happy with the service. While it was a Monday, the restaurant was packed, however, at 7.45 we made a reservation for 8.30 and was seated around 8.10 when we arrived a bit early. Good and drinks were great! We ordered the salt and pepper squid, duck dumplings, pork belly buns and the W+W chicken and pork and prawn fried rice. Everything was presented beautifully and the wait time even with the restaurant being so busy was only 10-15 minutes. Overall amazing customer service and food!

The food was absolutely delicious, every dish Impressed, the mix of flavours and freshness was just perfect! Probably the best bao bun, money bags and stir fry steak we’ve ever had. Cocktails were mind blowing and the staff was great. Can’t wait to be back in NZ or Sydney. Thanks White&wongs!

Disappointing, terrible and tasteless. Both food and service from the first waiter was terrible. We had a table of 4 and food came about 1 hour after seating and they didn’t come together including the cocktails. Understandable that it’s a busy night but when food came it was tasteless so that made it worse. The photos taken were dishes that came first and the rest came 20 mins later. I didn’t bother taking pics of the rest because I was extremely disappointed. We ordered bao and other dumplings later on because we thought maybe the popular dishes would be different. Nope never again. Our experience didn’t reflect the location of the restaurant and the reviews. 1 star for the waitress that served us towards the end.

Our first night in Auckland and this was an amazing way to start! As a family of 4 with 2 young children - this was a winner. So much to choose from without being overwhelming. Certainly something for everyone. We had duck pancakes, dumpling including prawn/coriander glass dumpling, prawn crackers with chilli salt even the kids sprinkled this on everything!. Food was served promptly, the view is fabulous and they were great with the kids ensuring they had a positive experience too. I think we'll try to fit in another visit as it was so delicious! Kid-friendliness: So inviting for kids, accommodating the food for them just in case but they tried everything.

Came here for dinner. The staff was very accommodating, giving us a choice of sitting inside or outside, which was nice, and they helped us make some good choices for food. The ambiance and views are really nice here, so you can't go wrong. The food was also really good, with lots of smaller plates to share. We had Bao Buns, Frieds Chicken, Dumplings and Brocollini. Would definitely recommend all of those.

Good choice for a ladies night out .We made prior reservation as it was a weekend.Lovely ambience.For drinks ,we ordered the Mandarin Diqeuri,Oriental Mule and few mocktails.We also ordered Soft shell crab, Peking duck,Crispy Fried Chicken Sticky Chilli Sauces, Masterstroke fried pork hock.The quantity for the fried pork was very less, although it was very delicious . Amazing waterfront restaurant experience! Cozy interior seating, beautiful waterfront seating, staff are friendly and fast, food and drinks were delicious. Wheelchair access on upper levels, best parking is one of the two main parking garages near Quay St, or there is some AT street parking metered within 500m of the restaurant. Lots of Lime/Beam scooters around too!

Chinese roast duck, hoisin & mandarin sauces which comes with pancake like roti was the star of the night. Food does not disappoint but Customer service could be better. The room we booked was a bit crowded for us and servers spilled drinks on my friends not one but twice. Mango pudding was nice and refreshing.

Bang Bang Chicken 3/5 Whole market fish 2/5 Crispy Crab 3/5 Environment 3/5 Service 4/5 Overall: 3/5 Ps: Little bit disappointed with white+wong’s tbh, especially I choosing this restaurant to have my birthday dinner, I was expecting some authentic Asian fusion flavors that can amaze my taste bud. But’mmm Well,clearly that I am giving too much high expectations on white + wong’s,they are pretty average.

Amazing service, great food and a vibrant atmosphere. Was only going to be there for a quick bite but the menu just did not help. Too many yummy sounding items to choose from. The food was delicious. Thanks again and hope to be back soon.
