I visit often as this venue has been chosen by my whānau to use for celebrations.nThe rooms are affordable and can host a whole whānau visiting an event held at the venue.nThe venue has a good sound system, and the bar staff I've met have been great. Bruce, I'll never forget you.nIt's a wonderful central place if you need to host a gathering for people travelling from the north or south island.
We could not recommend the Masonic enough. The rooms are clean, tidy and spacious, and the location is perfect. All of the staff we met at the Masonic were lovely. We arrived early when the hotel was not yet open. However, Colleen was more than happy to open the doors for us and let us into one of the rooms to store our bags while the other one was still occupied/being cleaned. Colleen recommended places to go celebrate after a graduation, and even drove us to the airport when we left so we did not have to spend more money on an Uber. We will be recommending the Masonic to friends or family who travel to Palmerston and need a place to stay, and if we ever return we will 100% stay again.nThank you Colleen and co!
Great location, minutes away from anywhere you need to be. Easy free parking, locked parking, and on the street. Super accommodating and friendly staff who will make your stay feel like you're at home. The room I booked is small, but it has everything you need heated blankets, microwave, jug, fridge, utensils, workingndesk. It's internet is quite good. The room is tidy and clean and is cleaned daily to high standards. I think the free for all cold water station is a nice touch too. Not to mention, the price is super bang for buck. Will definitely be staying here again for future trips. Massive thanks to Murray and the team at Masonic for being such legends.
I rated it is just ok. The room was nice and clean, but it felt quite small and there was a strange smell, best described as urine. I understand that it is definitely a 3-star hotel.nnThe single bed only has an electric blanket, but the double bed doesn't have one, yes there is a heater, too. The shower was not ok, only a trickle and it was not easy to make warm.nn Ants found in this hotel, coming through a crack at the lower wall in the room, lots of them, and there was no food around to attract them.nnAlso, we had trouble sleeping on Saturday night because there was loud music in the bar ground floor, which is so annoying between 9pm and 1am, I wish they should need to turn it down. This hotel wasn't that quiet. We were only told that a function was on when we arrived. Loud music and lots of screaming could be heard, and it was impossible to sleep.
No warning about functions held here during our stay with loud noise making it impossible to sleep! This hotel should not be renting out rooms during functions! Nobody should be paying to have no sleep!
