A very good example of judging a book by its cover, the place looks great from the outside….. worst hotel I have ever stayed in. Rooms and the bedding left a non-impressive lasting smell in my mouth, I’m pretty sure they were washed years ago. No air conditioning in the rooms, I had to ask for a fan and had to fetch it my myself. For $180 I expected much more. I’m still not sure if the price included a free breakfast, I just wanted to get out.nnCome on owners, for that price you can do much better!!
Asked about the heat in the room as no air conditioning. Person said was warm in afternoon.nStayed in room 301. No air conditioning & extremely hot.nHad to open windows. Supplied with a small fan in corner of the bedroom.nThe street noise is really bad, the rooms heat my 7 year old son couldn’t sleep.nMost over priced, average room I’ve ever experienced.nWould not recommend & definitely won’t be back.nI don’t believe room 301 should be advertised to stay in, in such heat.n11pm considering driving back home to Wellington with my son.
One of the worst accomodations I’ve stayed in for what we paid, dated and dirty and we had to pay $380 for an executive suite just because we booked on the same day at 10pm. We dealt with a lady named Joy. You would think they wouldn’t overcharge you if they’re most likely not going to book that room at 10pm. I would understand if they charged a slightly higher rate than usual but $380 is absolutely ridiculous for the room we stayed in. I highly recommend go to the Quest or another hotel that doesn’t overcharge for a ridiculously dated and dirty room.
We booked our stay from Australia.nWe had never been here before. Upon arrival, we thought the place looked cool and had an old feel to it with all the exposed wood, etc, in the main building. But we were then told our room was next door. No biggie at first, but not really as the pics had shown.nnThe room smelt musty and did not smell fresh. I opened all windows immediately to get some air through there. The bed for my wife and I was a terrible old sprung mattress that had seen better days and was very uncomfortable to sleep on. The base was ripped with foam coming out, I was not very impressed by this at all. The heater fan on the wall was filled with dust, and when turned on, it was very smelly as it was burning dust. It had a cook top in the kitchen, which was dirty. The room with two single beds had cobwebs, and the furniture in there had definitely seen better days. The bathroom had moldy silicone around the base of the bath. Wallpaper peeling off the bathroom walls. The grout was filthy. The extraction fan was filled with dust, and the capping around the tiles had some very sharp corners at head height for the kids.nnI've stayed in way nicer places for a lot less than we paid for this room.nnWill not be staying here again, and definitely will not recommend this place to anyone I know.nnWe were very disappointed, to say the least, and after a big day of traveling, we were too tired to complain. Just wanted to sleep and get out in the am.nnI generally wouldn't write a review like this, but when I handed my keys in, I wasn't even asked how my stay was, which is when I'd usually speak up. But I thought, nah bugger it, you'll get my input this way instead.
If I could place a 0 star rating I would.nVery disappointing accommodation.nI booked in April 2024 based on the 4.5 star write-up, the great looking photos, accommodation description and 3 specific facilities that were offered on the website, which we were particularly wanting - hence why we booked.n1. Spa pool, 2. Gym, and 3. In room phone for room service.nOnly after we arrived and paid for the room we realised that:n1. The spa pool was out of order and had been for sometime, due to the state of the room and the very old and tatty 'out of order' sign on the door This out of order was not specified on the website.n2. Only 1 piece of equipment in the 'Gym' was operational there were 'out of order' signs on all equipment and it was very dirty and in total disrepair again no warning on the website that it was not operational.n3. There was no phone in the room to make calls or use room service and we had to leave our room and walk around the front of the property to the restaurant to make our dinner order in person some excuse was made that all the phones were being upgraded at that point in time again no mention was made when we arrived and paid that phones were not in order.nnThe windows frames, ledges and blinds were very dusty, the room looked like it had not been vacuumed, the carpet was threadbare and dirty, there was mould on the carpet by a window that I presume had a leak, the table was dirty and had not been wiped..nnIf I had known these things beforehand I never would have made a booking to stay there.nVery disappointed. Will never stay again.
