Lower Hutt After Hours Medical Centre

I visited yesterday morning with my 6-year-old who had a fever and abdominal pain. The receptionist was very helpful and friendly, which was a relief. However, the nurse who saw my child was incredibly unfriendly. There was no welcoming attitude at all. She asked questions in an interrogative manner, with no smile or warmth. It wasn’t busy at all, so there was no reason for her to be so cold. I couldn’t help but feel that she didn’t treat us with the same level of respect and kindness that we’ve received elsewhere. Obviously racism. It left a really negative impression. It was disappointing, especially since she's a nurse. I hope the clinic takes a look at the behaviour of their staff in order to provide a better experience for all patients.

This is an essential service when our usual GPs can’t see us at short notice for whatever reason. At an after hours I expect and find it absolutely acceptable to wait my turn so that the most urgent can be seen and provided relief. I rate the experience including the wait very good.

Today went in with one of my sons. It was the fastest I have EVER gone through there. Empty waiting room, signed in, seen, prescriptions filled next door and put in 7 minutes. Fantastic work guys!

Often Busy, but these guys do there best . Have always been polite and Doctors Nurses and Staff do a great job. I think a lot of the reveiws are addressing the state of Primary Health not this practice.

Receptionists and nurse were amazing, friendly and patient. It was very busy but they were very well organized in that chaos and they kept things going.nAlso the doctor Dr Lachowicz was great and I wish we could have someone like him as a GP - so calm, nice and very helpful.
