Lower Hutt After Hours Medical Centre

Feeling very relieved after visiting Hutt Valley Urgent Care. I took a family member in who needed urgent care and both the nurse we saw and the doctor were excellent, thorough and able to help remedy the issue right away, including providing a referral for follow up care. The staff on reception were also lovely. The clinic was very busy but we felt well looked after.

Attended Urgent Care this evening for my child.nNurse Mary who was on this evening, was kind, compassionate and supportive. Being young parents, she helped my husband and I and gave me advice on how to bring my child’s temperature down. He was burning up when we arrived and she got straight into it and helped his fever come down . Thank you Mary, continue doing the work that you do we appreciate you. And Dr Katie, for making our child feel comfortable and diagnosed with two ear infections. Let’s hope we have a better night tonight :nHope you both get some rest and we appreciate you taking the time to care for us.

I cannot complain about the prompt care from the doctor or nurse. The receptionist was also great. However the transaction for the fee went through a company called med. JustAnswer . Which Unbeknown to me set up a subscription fee of a $100/ month. I have been able to now cancel this subscription and got this months fee refunded. but they have scammed me out of $100 for July. So check your account details and make sure this wasn’t done to you too.

I've been there 3 times this year because I can't get into my GP. I have found everyone is lovely.I didn't see a Dr I saw a nurse Practitioner. She gave me a prescription. Which I was surprised about. The only thing I think is wrong I had to pay $9. 50 for the car park. I was there from 6pm until 930hrs. I'm a pensioner with a disabled parking space.

Wow, the lady working at the front desk was so extremely rude. I can understand that it can be stressful and busy working with many people throughout the day but please ensure staff training to speak to people with compassion and empathy. I am honeslty so upset and frustrated at the way she was speaking, with unwanted remarks and comments. It was lady with blond curly hair, hope someone can speak to her about this behaviour so that others don’t experience what we went through.
