Friendly staff, easy check in, we have started twice and both times rooms were clean, even had the heat pump going for us. Rooms and decor are a bit dated, but great for subbys working away from home. Plenty of carparks and room to park a truck. Beds comfy, we had a great view over HanmerRooms: 5/5

Two of us stayed 2 nights here. The unit we had was bigger than many we've stayed in - good sized bedroom with a relatively comfortable bed, lounge/dining/kitchen, bathroom - and the facilities were great albeit some a little dated. Very nice shower gas hot water, full kitchen full stove, microwave, good half-size fridge with efficient ice-box, all the usual toaster, pots and pans, even a roasting dish! The couch was older and could have been more comfortable, but was OK. We had a problem with one of the tv boxes, but they replaced it immediately. No Sky, but the usual free-to-air channels, with good reception. The internet WiFi could have been faster but was unlimited and worked adequately for everything we wanted. Great location - a 5-10 minute walk to town. We would be very happy to come back.

Great option for staying in Hanmer. Easy to get to and great location for local hiking tracks. Perfect for what we wanted. Self contained, private with Excellent shower pressure. Staff were accommodating despite the covid restrictions. Would stay here again.

Our family have been coming here for quite a few years now. The location is great, and personally we like the original 80s vibe, it is basically untouched from its original form. Which is also a small downside, some of the fittings and fixtures could do with a spruce up, but overall everything works. We spring for the 2 bedroom places up high, which have a good amount of space for groups of 4-5 people. Come visit it before it gets bowled and turned into modern terraced holiday apartments.

Had the most amazing views and we loved our stay here. Has all the amenities and very nice house. The staff is very accommodating and helpful. Must stay in Hanmer springs for their views. Had a lovely experience.

Awful stay. Rude and poor communication. Linen old and worn. Very dirty all throughout. Door handles falling off. My 5 year old left his favourite soft toy there and when I phoned later the same day they said they had thrown it out and then refused to get it out if the bin. Then lied about the rubbish being collected already. Said they are environmentally sustainable but they aren't. Just terrible all round. Do not book to stay here.

DECEITFUL THIEVES. BEWARE anything you accidentally leave they will keep or "throw away". Have seen other reviews mentioning this and it happened to us too. We accidentally left a valuable and sentimental item and called the same day we left, mere hours and they said they "threw it away". They did not even attempt to contact us at all. We begged and pleaded with them to get it out for us as it is so important and in no way could be confused for rubbish and they said the rubbish had already been collected. When we pointed out that was a lie and that rubbish day was not for another 4 days they changed their lie and said they dropped it off at Hanmer refuse station already. When again we pointed out that must be a lie too because the refuse station was not open that day they changed the lie again and said that it was in their rubbish pile on site and we had to get there immediately to get it which was impossible as we had driven too far and could not get there in time. I have seen it on previous reviews so I have made an official police report. If this happens to you and you see this review please know you are not alone and my police report may help you in the future. Their customer service has been appalling right from the start well before the incident, they have no interest in treating guests well. They are far from environmentally friendly like they claim who would throw away people's belongings rather than return them? Opposite of environmentally conscious. Place was old, dirty and door handles fell off continuously.

Great place to take the family for a few days, really enjoyed the chalet, it was tidy, clean and spacious and had a great view of the mountains picture out of bedroom window in the morning attached the heating was good heat pump parking was ample. The manager was lovely, friendly and helpful, he pointed us in the right direction in town for food. I see there are some bad reviews of this place, but I'd give this place a chance, we thought it was well worth it.
