Downtown Carpark

We recently parked at the Downtown Car Park in Auckland and found it to be one of the better options in the city. As expected, parking in Auckland isn’t cheap and can often be a bit tricky to navigate, but this facility strikes a nice balance with medium pricing compared to others nearby.nnThe location is excellent, right in the heart of the city, making it very convenient for accessing the waterfront and surrounding areas. Like many car parks in New Zealand, the layout means you’ll likely end up driving through multiple levels it’s usually best to head straight up to the third or fourth floor to find a space.nnGetting there and moving through the car park can take a bit of time, especially with the traffic flow inside, but that’s fairly typical for central city parking.nnOverall, while it has the usual quirks, it’s a reliable and well-located option definitely one of the better car parks in Auckland.

Parking here was nice and easy. It’s affordable, and you can leave your car and walk around the city. Sometimes it does get very busy though.

My go-to free motorcycle parking in the city. This is at the 6th floor. There are scattered motorcycle parking even on the lower floors, with ground anchors. How cool is that?!nnMany thanks for this Downtown Carpark!

The best car park for access to downtown or Viaduct, with really reasonable charges.nHowever This car park is exceptionally hard to navigate with either a wheelchair or pushchair. There is no helpful signage at all, and the lifts only go to certain floors so you end up having to push the wheelchair/pushchair up or down the vehicle ramp which was dangerous. There was a young couple with a pushchair trying to find their way out too. In the end we both had to take a long detour to get out. This carpark is most definitely NOT wheelchair/pushchair friendly at all, but great for everyone else.
