Come early into town and this most central parking garage is amongst the best for price and convenience. Two entry points and staircase options as well as a lift through the adjacent building complex.nYes spots are tight but even a Ford ranger or Toyota Hilux can squeeze in. It’s capped at $24.50 at the moment so not too exorbitant, unlike SkyCity, plus has early bird pricing too.

The Civic Car Park is super handy if you're heading into central Auckland – it's literally underneath the Civic Theatre/Aotea Square area, so perfect for events, movies or dinners in town. Plenty of bays available most evenings and getting in/out is straightforward.nnEvening rate is $12.50 early-bird or after 5 pm, I think, which feels a bit steep for what it is, especially compared to some of the other downtown car parks.nnBig warning though: the parking spaces are extremely tight. If you drive anything wider or longer than a standard sedan or small SUV, you'll be squeezing in and praying no one parks too close. Height clearance is only 2.0 m too, so definitely not suitable for high utes, vans, or anything with a roof rack/boxes. I have a dual-cab ute and there's no way I'd attempt it again – ended up stressing the whole night about potential door dings and scraping the roof on the way out.nIf you have a compact or mid-size car it's fine and the location can't be beaten, but larger vehicle owners should look elsewhere Wilson on Mayoral Drive or Victoria St are usually more forgiving

Car parks are so small. I always go super early i want to park here to get a good spot. I do like that you can park either Aotea square or town hall side and avoid walking too far.

Very handy, didn't mind the evening rate. The app function didn't let me change the time I wanted to stay, so had to top up. At tge end of show you find a big queue blocking the stairs from Aotea Sq.

It's an ok place to park. The spaces are a bit narrow and the stairwell felt a bit grungy. But there were plenty of spaces and it was almost immediately next to where I was going.
