Middlemore Hospital Car Park

I feel for those families who have a dying family member in any hospital in Auckland who are faced with parking of up to $26 a day to visit, and usually that visit is the last time. It is actually wrong that someone high up in the car parking world is profiting off of misery and misfortune. Disgraceful.

Staff Car park exclusive to Te Whatu Ora Counties Manukau staff with Parking access card. Should reach earlier than 8.30am to get a bay or try on roof top.nSecure, but during night fall and early morning, it's wise to contact the security and request to accompany the car.nThe bay area is clean, but the lifts are dirty and stinking.

The carparking at Middlemore Hospital is terrible and they need to sort it asap and build new parking buildings to cater for the huge growth in the population in the southern area!! I drove round for 20mins to all 3 of their parks and nothing! The mobility parks were all taken as well so I had to leave my mother at the doors and let her go up to her appointment and receive the unwelcome news her cancer was back by herself!! Disgusting!!nThe single star is so I can post my NEGATIVE review! ! The Hospital Board needs to sort this out!

My experiences at Middlemore have been very good, over the last three months as an outpatient, I have received quality care from all staff that I have come in contact.nQualty service is so important when you'll not feeling the best. I always acknowledge and thank those that support me during these times.nA few kinds words go along way, for both sides.nUsually I get dropped off and picked up after my appts. Otherwise there are other options, taxi, buses, paid parking and train station, right there. So convenient.

As a disability user I am disappointed to see that some of the parking has been taken up by non mobility users and even contractors. This means trying to navigate a wheel chairs thru a muddled parking lot, and getting out of the narrow normal parking is a nightmare . Considering the cost for parking at the hospital you wuld think this would be better controlled !
