Dou Dou Taiwanese Cuisine

We felt like some noodles during our day trip in Hamilton. Decide to come here since it was close by. We ordered the braised beef and braised pork rice noodle soup. The taste here is definitely more home cook style, flavour not that strong and the pork is not fatty like the authentic Taiwanese braised pork. The braised beef was a bit better with more tenderness of the meat. The soul broth is nicer for the braised pork dish which was lighter taste with some coriander flavour. However although it is homecook style and more healthy taste, I feel doesn't really live up to the actual taste of Taiwanese braised pork if people are wanting to have it.nHowever I can feel that this restaurant is catered for asians that are 60 years plus who like not stronger flavour and prefer healthy over strong tasting food.nnOverall, it isn't bad, price is good and will probably come back to bring my parents if we travel down here again.

I’ve passed in front of this place countless times and today we decided to try this small Taiwanese cuisine restaurant. We ordered some different plates and the most delicious was the Taiwanese fried chicken. It was quite similar with the Japanese karage, both crunch and tasty. We also ordered shrimp, spring rolls and fried kumara, the last was my children’s favorite. The service was fast and courteous.

Wonderful Taiwanese cuisine, friendly staff and medium price. The only shortage is the set is a bit small. Can order both in English/Chinese language.

Love the food and had to go back twice in the same week. Best dishes were the fried chicken bites and the fried whole chicken leg. Both were so crispy and well marinated!

Friendly staff, clean and bright restaurants. You can tell their hygiene standard is very high by just looking at how they pack their food for takeaway and the environment.nnFood are nice and they give little side dishes for each rice meal. I have it pretty much everyday when I’m not cooking as they are the most nutritious and affordable place I have visit so far! I eat out 90% and been in nz for 10 yearsnnI think as well the most amazing part is they make sure the food quality is consistent. I experience a lot of inconsistent food quality in a lot of restaurants but not dou dou kitchen! They know what they are doing :
