First time @ Buckley's Fried Takeaways. A very warm greeting when entering. Purchased a family pack with an extra scoop of chips. I was impressed with the batter on the fish, hot dogs, potato fritters. The fish taste nice & the meal wasn't greasy. Chips were just right, with a bit of crunch. The scoop of chips was a scoop, not a half scoop that others fail. Will look to have a burger next time around.
Pretty good fish n chips, a nice improvement for the village area. Business hasn't been open that long and i think they have some millage to go. There is room for improvement.nnChips were not bad, fish wasn't greasy at all always a plus. Batter was nice. Crab stick was very good. A little vinegar also goes a long way. Order delivery time was reasonable which is very good for the current foot traffic. Reminds me a bit of how packed out Seakraft gets down Queens Street. The decor could use a bit of an improvement. Its nice but bland. You often find in many fish and chips shops a seat or two and some used magazines to read whilst waiting.nnVery good business, needs some improvements prices could be better but its early days. Could improve value for money, i imagine every shop sets their size of chip scoop. It was nice to see some youngsters being employed there. The polished wood panel flooring is an interesting change from your average chippy. I'm including some pics of the menu's whatever google will allow.nnOne final note, their was a little mishap in the order but the owner made it right. A plus for customer service.nnUpdate 31st October 2024nService has greatly improved since my first review, im pleased to say chips are most of the time perfectly golden and not too greasy. I was surprised a recent battered fish, barely had any grease at all. It takes experience to cook a perfect chip, the owners getting that experience, thumbs up
Perfect dinner spot on a weekday but weekends of course you got to wait a bit lol. Calling in is the best option for the weekend, weekdays usually got seating available so you don’t miss the call for your order. Also has a small entrance ramp with a lip, pretty accessible for less able bodies. But yeah! Great people and really delicious burgers! Highly suggest a try at the very least.
Been a few times now, tried a selection of things, squid rings pretty decent, good chips, the fish every time has been very good, you know you are eating fish where I find some other places it's like eating just fried batter, the burger I got was nice, had care when being put together and wasn't just a thrown together mess which is another thing I've noticed with some other places. Mussels were excellent, probably the best I've ever got from a takeaway. Kids specifically asked for this place last time we had fish and chips.
