Best fish n chips! Highly recommend if youre in Wainui! Fish was so fresh & delicious!
Service was great, friendly and bubbly. Atmosphere was good. My issue is when it came to how much chips you get for spending nearly $15. Went in looking for 3 scoops of chips to feed 8 people, have been to other fish and chip shops and 3 scoops has always been plenty sometimes too much never a bad thing however going to Buckeys, turns out I needed to order around 5 or more scoops which is unfortunate because I'd already spent what I thought was a fair bit of money just on chips. Chips were tasty, just need to be mindful of how much you actually do need and hope you get the right amount.
Food was absolutely excellent.nnThe smash burgers were cooked well, and the chips were crunchy and fluffy.nnMy teenager decided she didn't like the look of the smash burger - it tasted great the next morning for breakfast.nnI'll come back often!
First time @ Buckley's Fried Takeaways. A very warm greeting when entering. Purchased a family pack with an extra scoop of chips. I was impressed with the batter on the fish, hot dogs, potato fritters. The fish taste nice & the meal wasn't greasy. Chips were just right, with a bit of crunch. The scoop of chips was a scoop, not a half scoop that others fail. Will look to have a burger next time around.
Best smash burgers you can buy in Wellington. Edges of the patties were crisp and the overall flavour profile was harmonious. We traveled for our burgers from Wellington Central last night due to an online recommendation and were delighted it was 100% worth the trip.nThe corn nuggets & donuts were also wonderful
