Story

Woodbridge is an 1825 convict-built Georgian mansion, on the banks of the Derwent River. It was completely renovated in 2004/5, and won the Australian HIA Renovation of the Year award. Established as a boutique hotel, it is the only Tasmanian member of Small Luxury Hotels of the World, Tasmania's only accredited 5 Star Hotel, and was listed in Australia's Top 10 Luxury Hotels by Business Review Magazine.

Beautiful original building right on the river, with each room having picturesque views. Especially love the common rooms featuring log fire, free port and sherry, monopoly and card games. So very cozy. Quaint and elegant. The staff are great.

My time here at the Woodbridge hotel was amazing. All the rooms have a view to the magnificent river. The hotel restoration is well done and full of historical artifacts and books about the property. The bedroom was big and clean. At Easter break, there were always some nice chocolate surprises every time I got into the room. The food was amazing and had 4 courses I paid extra to have all that amazing food and the option to choose what I wanted for dinner I didn't have the chance to use the spa/sauna. Hopefully next time. The staff and the owner were very nice and welcoming. I couldn't recommend them enough.
We loved our time at Woodbridge. The property is right on the Derwent river, and feels very secluded.The staff are very friendly, and helpful, and the rooms are comfortable and clean. Dinner and breakfast was provided as part of our package, and the meals were excellent. We are looking forward to returning in the future.
A lovely old colonial building which is now a luxury small hotel in a quiet location on the banks of the Derwent River. Very comfortable, and excellent staff who had lots of local knowledge. The meals were also above expectation. Highly recommended.
Woodbridge on the Derwent absolutely, loved every minute of being there, not only for the very special occasion of our sons wedding, but it brought back so many memories of days gone by of my childhood , the attention to detail was impressive too.
